Three out of five men in this shot have been accused of sexual misconduct, harassment or abusive behaviour towards women. A fourth signed into law a near-total abortion ban in his state as governor.

Apparently every Chinese academic in any field of “interest” to the PLA is getting their visa rejected for, more or less, presumptively being a spy. My friend’s visa is denied because she studies “neuroscience.” What she actually studies is jaw pain - but ICE is flatly rejecting all appeals.
Just got the word that the Trump administration is throwing a brilliant medical researcher friend of mine out of the country because they’re Chinese. Insane and unreal. Literally doing research in the US to help the US

RCFP is currently representing me in my lawsuit against the DC Metropolitan Police to release body cam footage from their raid on the US Institute of Peace earlier this year.

Please support them so they can further their vital work of maintaining journalists' First Amendment rights!
When the government refuses to release public records, we take action. When reporters are arrested for doing their job, we speak up.

This #GivingTuesday, support press freedom and the First Amendment with a donation to @rcfp.org: donate.rcfp.org/giving-tuesd...

Drunken slob #PeteSexPest never saw any combat, he was a PR Officer and TV talking head
Alex Horton, one of the two Washington Post reporters who broke the story, has been a participant in more violent combat than Pete Hegseth by an order of magnitude.

It's not a coincidence that he got the scoop.
Q: So you didn't see any survivors after that first strike?

HEGSETH: I did not personally see survivors. The thing was on fire. This is called the fog of war. This is what you in the press don't understand. You sit in your air conditioned offices and plant fake stories in the Washington Post

There have been at least 19 murders in D.C. since Trump deployed the National Guard here in August. One was the murder of a Guard soldier less than a week ago.

This is my "Dutch Auction" theory of authoritarianism.

It's no coincidence, for example, that the Wannsee Conference, where the Nazi top leadership signed off on the Final Solution, took place just after the military tide turned outside Moscow, and the U.S. declared war on Germany.
The most dangerous moment in every authoritarian regime is when it realizes that its power has crested and is now falling. This is when they realize that if they are to achieve their maximalist ambitions, now they have to throw the dice — because no matter how bad the odds, their odds are best now.

Retired three-star general:
It’s important to note from a military perspective that if a subordinate is about to give an unlawful order & his senior knows about it, it’s also a requirement for the senior official to stop him from executing it. And then counsel/discipline him.

So there’s that, too.
