My partner & I have been building some small-games using play-doh & stop motion. Our goal is every pixel on screen to be hand-sculpted in real-life; even the UI!

We have an Instagram with some videos of our experiments! www.instagram.com/boressostudio

But guess I'll be posting here too! 😁

TL;DR Unity -> Godot transition: after 13 years in unity, it took me 4-6 weeks of getting adjusted, and now i’ll never go back. it has quirks, like other engines. there’s bugs. but it’s free, basically equally capable, and well reported issues get fixed quicker than in unity (sometimes within hours)

The 2026 Global Game Jam #GGJ26 was last weekend, so let's take a look at their historical data for engine usage.

📈 @godotengine.org is having a good run!

#Godot is now firmly established as the #2 engine in game jams (correlated by #GMTKJam data), rapidly closing the gap with #Unity.

Going to need a Liam Gallagher skin in Fortnite.

Imagine dropping into Tilted and then cracking shields whilst spouting Oasis lyrics down the mic in a Mancunian accent. Tamborine backbling too.

Wud be Mad fer it, er kid xx

Almost 4 hours of someone actually playing the Google Genie 3 games. It is amusing that this is what has tanked the games industry stock market.

Using @godotengine.org 4.6 for @globalgamejam.bsky.social 2026 and it looks so swish & feels so smooth to use! 😍

C# support also feels alot tighter? Not sure if improvements have gone into it recently.

Extremely amazing to see a FOSS game engine be basically on-par visually to multi-billion dollar game engines.

Every so often I hear of indie studios working without version control systems, and I am shocked and appalled. This is seriously dangerous and you should stop immediately and get your shit sorted. Perforce or GitHub are right there, they're free for small teams, go use them NOW.

My wife, who has seen basically zero pop-culture movies, thought the main villain in Star Wars was called 'Lucas Skywalker'.

It should be a legal requirement for a company making layoffs to also supply a public list of names and contact info of those affected; so other companies can hire them.

Thoughts?

With the rise of AI-generated content; I predict that public demand for Behind The Scenes 'Making Of' footage of movies, videogames, music & art is going to increase. People will be more curious how their sausages are made.

We are going back to DVD-era bonus content videos! Nature is healing! 😯

Honestly, the results of ChatGPT is getting progressively worse.

Many more mistakes compared to a few years ago. You also have to ask it more questions to eventually get to a somewhat usable answer.

I've seen 2 week projects become immensely successful. I've seen 5 year projects fail spectacularly. The time invested into something has barely any relevance to its success.

Whether the time was used properly is much more of a positive indication, and only you, the creator, can influence that.

Forever pondering the situation many years ago when I had to wait 6 months for a $300 art outsourcing expense to get approved by finance but at the same time saw a 'drinks and food' expense of $10k get approved in 5 minutes.
