In the first 100 days I will dig down into the place of honor. On day one I will issue an Executive Order that the radical woke warning signs be removed and anyone perpetuating the "dangerous and repulsive" lie to be terminated. I will restore the country by touching the ancient treasures.

Northrop Grumman's Utah plant for the new ICBM, which has a long history of explosions, fires and deaths, has, according to an officer who responded to last year's explosion, "the oldest fire equipment I’ve ever seen in my life.”

Here’s some gems about Northrop Grumman's fire equipment, RTX's ethics and Anduril's wildlife challenges I discovered in public records last year.

One very easy thing Congress could do: Mandate body cameras for CPB and ICE officers on patrol and make the footage automatically disclosable under FOIA.

If the figures we're getting out of Iran are in the right league, this weekend was, I think, one of the bloodiest state crackdowns of all time. People are talking 12,000-20,000 dead; for comparison Hungary in 1956 was about 2,500, Tiananmen - across country, in multiple cities - probably 1000+

Complexity is costly. Why have complex societies? To solve problems.

Withdrawing from international orgs and agreements, which are probably the tippy top example of human complexity on a global scale, is intentional simplification.

Haha what a crazy premise for this one. Can you imagine what it'd be like if extremely powerful men acted this way regularly? Haha
Tonight in 1962, the “The Twilight Zone” episode “One More Pallbearer” (season 3, episode 17) first aired on CBS. A grudge-holding millionaire offers three people from his past the opportunity to survive a seemingly imminent nuclear war in his bomb shelter—but only if they apologize to him first.

Account cancellation is a really effective tactic imo
It's worth your time to call Hilton to cancel your account with them. 1-800-446-6677. Here's why:

They asked me if it was because of the ICE thing. I said it was. Then they suggested I wait a couple days to see if they were going to change course.

The pressure is getting to them. Let's keep it up.

Now more than ever, a time to ridicule fascists.

If you've never seen Starship Troopers and can tolerate a stupid amount of gore, there's a lot of today to look back on—from 1997.

I am a broken record on this I know, but this is a result of Democrat politicians wimping out in 2020, leaving protestors to be violently assaulted. Now they are killing protestors. So glad people compromised by giving law enforcement everything they wanted!
A woman recording an ICE agent tells him "Shame on you."

The agent responds, "Have you all not learned from the past couple of days?"

"Learned what?" she asks

Then he knocks her phone out of her hand

They drew blood and are now facing people in the streets and political opposition. Instead of deescalating locally, they're surging their presence to exacerbate the confrontation. It's a goad.
Federal immigration officers are pulling out of a Louisiana crackdown and heading to Minneapolis in an abrupt pivot from an operation that drew protests around New Orleans and aimed to make thousands of arrests, according to documents obtained by The Associated Press.

And beyond Oreshnik which is really more of a strategic threat to select NATO airbases and not really much else, Russia has used nuclear-capable missiles against Ukraine as a matter of course since 2022, including a lot of these dual-capable weapons:

Weird for NYT editors to decide the unconfirmed Oreshnik strike is worth a push alert. Not just because it's unconfirmed, but because it's not the first time nor particularly meaningful with regards to prosecuting the war or the peace talks.

They've been all over the place lately.

If this is the dilemma we have after decades of declining opportunity and terminal suburban-brain w/ a festering media environment, fine. Our house is rotting and it's gonna take a lot to fix it.

It's only a no-win if we're cravenly refusing the task of showing leadership for change - the 1st step.
Classic Democratic no-win. All of them voted against the OBAA, which supercharged ICE funding and hiring. But they won't say they'd "abolish ICE" so they'll get yelled at (mostly by people who'll vote for them in the midterms after threatening not to).
Top Democrats decline to say if they would rein in ICE after Minnesota shooting
