Just going to note again, because somehow we've all completely retconned this and I feel like I'm taking crazy pills, that pound-for-pound Biden had one of the most draconian border security regimes of any U.S. president ever, second only to Trump, *many of whose policies he inherited and kept*
Not going to read them all because jesus fucking christ but this is nasty work from Friedersdorf

Woke 2.0 will either fund the police or lose to actual fascism.
My hope is that a lot of centrists now understand that the options are Woke 2.0 or fascism. "Defund" was (and remains) correct policy.

Remember the monthly child tax credit in 2021 that was a basic income for 40 million families for six months? One of the results of that policy was that fewer parents sold their blood plasma.
Is this the “golden age” economy we’ve heard so much about?

When only the wealthy can afford peace of mind for their children, we've turned childhood into a privilege, not a promise.

I am proud to lead the Child Care for Every Community Act with @warren.senate.gov to cap childcare costs and fight for universal childcare.

AOC and Warren join forces in high-profile child care push ahead of midterms
As Republicans urge Americans to have more children but offer few supportive policies, Democrats believe reducing child care costs could be a winning message.

Especially for boys. Your kid is gonna see hot (to him) girls at school, you’re shielding him from very little. But maybe you should delay his entry into the world of corporate online gambling

A lot of people are more concerned about their kids/teens seeing sexy dancing at the Super Bowl halftime show than they are about those kids seeing ads for gambling addiction and I think that’s a misplaced priority

Someone was abducted at 10 AM by ICE on Central Ave. Their coworker says they’ve lived here for over 20 years, are documented, and have 3 kids who were born here.

Don’t be fooled by headlines when they’ve been lying to us the whole time. We still need you out patrolling until every agent is gone.

there have been literally zero negative consequences to "mass immigration" there is nothing to control

voters only care about it because the only narrative on immigration that exists in the public sphere is "there's a border crisis"

There's an argument that Trump was constitutionally barred from holding federal office after Jan 6 and therefore all his public acts since then are void. He has spent the last year validating that notion every single day. Letting any of this stand and ~Moving On~ after it's over would be a mistake

However much we hate Kennedy and the rest of the people cynically destroying public health, it is not enough. All of them should be purged from their position in society and die penniless denied the medicine they use for themselves but fear monger about in public.
A friend of ours was able to be a test subject for an mRNA vaccine for an aggressive form of breast cancer. Completely worked. It is one of the greatest miracles of science and like 40% of the country turned it into The Jab because they are mushheaded simpletons.

One of the most miserable things about living in this era is having to watch the stupidest & most arrogant people in the world have to relearn The Why of literally everything good that we collectively do the hard way.

The answer is always ‘Because a bunch of people died, fuckwit.’

The far-right hates liberalism in part because liberalism empowered women socially, politically, and economically, and so made them less dependent on settling for a mediocre man to provide for them. So they want to destroy liberalism to return women to a state of powerlessness and dependence.
The Heritage Foundation has released a 250-year roadmap to “save America.”

The document is a how-to guide for subjugating girls & young women: a detailed plan to push them out of college, funnel them into early marriage and motherhood, and then trap them there.

Elmo killed someone I knew. They deserved it. They did something to someone close to me. Years later they got incurable cancer but dammit, got into an experimental treatment & it seemed to be working.

But Elmo cut funding, the program stopped, & 6 weeks later he was dead. He voted twice for Trump.
