Hi, person here who’s actually been to war and helped tourniquet a teammate with a missing limb and spent time at the CASH to see the horrors of war.

People like Megyn are horrifying and evil. Most of them only see it from a screen and disassociate the real human connection from the violence.
Megyn Kelly on alleged war crimes: "I really do kind of not only wanna see them killed in the water, whether they're on the boat or in the water, but I'd really like to see them suffer. I would like Trump and Hegseth to make it last a long time so they lose a limb and bleed out."

as soon as i realised the (very nice! enjoyable conversation!) person was calling not to offer a job but to talk about their company's tech (so-called ai) i am afraid i very good-naturedly said A Number of Things. never gonna shut up about the MANY ethical concerns until they're resolved

i'm just gonna go ahead and cosign this for every artist.
your "loved it!" feeds me
you think you need to leave intelligent, thoughtful comments? lmao no

“loved it!” is all you need to say. blurt that out on Steam, YouTube, Amazon for whatever game, book, or video caught your fancy

The algorithm is all consuming but you can help cool people by just commenting “👍🏼”’ so do it
PRO TIP

If you have YouTubers you like and follow and watch their videos a lot

leave innane/positive comments on their videos. The algo is all fucked up for YT creators and a lot of videos get sent to the void for whatever reason.

I hate doing it, but I've been trying to do it.

taking notes
i didn't spend my teens and 20s practising being aloof, pointy, and insufferable to NOT deploy the responses she suggests
fyi a fun way to answer this is by going “well let me put it this way, what do YOU do?”

and they’ll be like “I’m a dentist”

then you smile and rock back on your heels and go “oh, done any root canals I might have heard of?”
After someone asks what I do and I say I'm an author: "Have I heard of you?"

How am I supposed to POLITELY respond to that?

I'm supposed to attend a non-writer dinner event in a couple weeks & I'm already having anxiety because of these kinds of scenarios.

Yeah, I'm gonna be that person too. You need to click through on the quoted post in Anna's post to see the *extent* of this.
Look, I don’t want to be the person who thinks everything is making fun of them, but I cannot help but feel like this is a laugh at the expense of fat people.

If we look like this, we get photographed and shamed on various subreddits. If they make tiny women look like this, it’s fashion. Apparently

I've hugged someone who hugged someone alive during the civil war. I think about that a lot actually.

As we lose the generation who survived WW2, it feels like we're going hard at pretending it never happened.

Actually I think a lot of historical atrocities are far closer than we'd like to admit

This Day in Labor History: November 22, 1909. Approximately 20,000 garment workers in New York City went on strike against the horrendous conditions of their sweatshops. This strike, known as the Uprising of the 20,000, was the largest strike led by women in American history to that time!!!
