Facebook reminds me that 11 years ago today I was at a sprint meeting so cringeworthy it led to the invention of Bad Agile.

Work Xmas dinner is in three hours, I just looked at the menu and the non-meat options are a vegan gluten-free pasta or mushroom risotto, IN A GREEK FUCKING RESTAURANT.

Fucking mushroom risotto, it's like hanging a sign on the kitchen door that says "No-one in here gives a fuck"

Shout out to every stoner, hippie, punk or raver in the last 50 years who got high and thought "Oh wouldn't it be amazing if we could get the Government on drugs."

"Desecration" is such a tell. These are not reasonable concerns reasonably expressed, it's a religious objection to modernity.

Saw Hamnet at the weekend and feel pretty sure that Jesse Buckley will be nominated for everything. The child actors give what I think might be the best performances by kids I've seen in a film. Paul Mescal ecxellent, Emily Watson also. Beautiful photography

For the sake of fairness I'd just like to make it clear I'm enjoying what Apple have just done to iOS just as much as I enjoyed what Microsoft did to Windows 11 .

I saw Henri Lefebvre's Conceptual Triad playing live at London Jazz Festival, it was... *shepherds crook appears from proscenium arch *
Henri Lefebvre's conceptual triad is not the most salient aspect of the Production of Space, it's just the easiest to quote. Discuss.

I have no doubt that some people will happily front up half a million pounds to be founder members of an AI powered Liz Truss fronted private members club, but I hope they do the necessary research and aren't just going in dry...

*stares directly into camera*
Liz Truss is back.

The short-lived UK prime minister and businessman Robert Tchenguiz are launching an ultra-exclusive club in London.

Truss and Tchenguiz are hoping to recruit 700 founding members — each paying £500,000. Find out more here: on.ft.com/493H1hI

"No, no, like the last five time, I didn't _really_ go to see a band called Woo Woo Boob Enhancement, it's a kind of joke but the humour isn't in the actual tweet, it's in the repetition...."

I have a joke about Icarus, but I don't think it will fly
I have a joke about Cerberus. It’s a shaggy dog story.

I'm not sure it's in the self interest of America's tech bro billionaires to suggest that we bring back public executions to punish the most destructive people in our society.
A Palantir billionaire just called for public hangings.

“It's time to bring back masculine leadership to protect our most vulnerable,” writes Joe Lonsdale.

This is where Silicon Valley authoritarianism is heading:

Strange now to think of you, gone without corsets & eyes, while I walk on the sunny pavement of Greenwich Village.

downtown Manhattan, clear winter noon, and I’ve been up all night, talking, talking, reading the Kaddish aloud, listening to Ray Charles blues shout blind on the phonograph

And became as lonely as a shepherd
and as overburdened by vast distances,
and summoned and stirred as from far away,
and slowly, like a long new thread,
introduced into that picture-sequence
where now having to go on bewilders us.

I'd never seriously considered the possibility that I might live long enough to one day see the US become a pariah state to rival North Korea, but right now I wouldn't rule it out.
The Trump National Security Strategy is bonkers in many ways but this objective stood out:

"Cultivating resistance to Europe’s current trajectory within European nations"

Making their strategy of supporting radical right and extremist parties explicit.
