A year-on update for my GoFundMe: still raising money.

To recap, foundation repairs I knew would be needed turned out to be more extensive than I thought. The cost is (at least) $10,000 higher than the largest loan I could take out.

Anything helps. #MutualAid

I'm trying not to make too much of a connection here to the previous time I had a visceral reaction to when a well-meaning member of a religious order was lectured about proper investigation techniques by an old queer, but...

Federal immigration enforcement officials called off a planned raid on Canal Street today shortly before it was slated to begin.

New Yorkers who heard about the raid showed up at the garage where the feds had gathered, and as federal agents tried to leave, the NYPD cleared the way for them.

I will recommend: BEFORE you switch over from your subscription to the lifetime license... make sure all your files are downloaded to your computer, because OneDrive will throw a bit of a fit if you try to open files that are stored solely in the cloud.
As part of its Black Friday promotions, StackSocial is offering Microsoft Office Professional 2021 for Windows at a notable price reduction of 84%, bringing it down to $35. This one-time purchase provides a lifetime license, eliminating ongoing fees.

anything worth doing is worth half-assing.

full skincare too much? hot washcloth & cleanser, then moisturize.

too many dishes? do 10 minutes. come back later. set a timer.

clean one corner of your room at a time.

the enemy of "decent" is "perfect".
A pro tip for those with executive function challenges, is that deciding how much you give a damn is key to the planning of tasks. Sometimes you just say, fuck it, I'm neurodivergent & I do what I want, so this is about to be a half ass, sloppy job.

Lots of people sharing this clip because it's funny and cathartic but I also genuinely believe it's important.

We have to win the narrative battle between "I live in a corrupt society and that's just how it is" and "I live in a corrupt society and we are going to defeat and humiliate these ghouls."
Good morning to Brazilian reporter Manuela Borges, who’s been waiting eleven years for this petty moment. ❤️ 🇧🇷

I'm an "A.i." abolitionist.

No consumer-facing LLMs or generative "A.i." in anything.

Sure, machine learning in science and a few other limited applications is fine.

But consumer-facing LLMs and generative "A.i." that are based on theft, push disinfo, and can be manipulated by billionaires?

No.
