I think most working class people would do what they can to stop climate change. The problem is that solar is beyond the skill set of the local handyman. Fascism is just how rich people deal with that cognitive dissonance without needing to teach the dirty povvos DC wiring.

I think a lot of billionaires did try to use money to solve climate change, but money can only buy what can be done. It can't buy what can't currently be done. People need knowlege at scale, knowlege that is not readily accessible or taught, and exists in niche circles, to solve the climate crisis.

Ultimately the power lies in the workers, so in theory, we the people could develop our own supply chains, have illicit solar installations, build commuter rail on our own streets, develop climate anarchist infrastructure.

In practice, fascism is masking a skilled labor shortage.

One of the hardest things to unpack was the way that I basically disassociated all of my autistic pain, and going back and both recognizing it as pain, and also recognizing it as pretty significant pain, i.e. that wearing the wrong pair of jeans is more painful to me than my period cramps.

WOW. I just went to Whole Foods to make some Amazon returns for an event that got canceled.

There’s a sign outside saying you cant use reusable bags no more cause of thefts. I live in the richest town in the richest parish in this state and folk still stealing to survive.
