There is indeed. Soaking them in vinegar overnight and then drying them in the oven to make them tougher*, is against the Laws of Conkers.

*probably doesn't work, but "always sniff your opponents' conkers" is good advice for any young person.

I have no idea what their parents are doing, buying a machine like that and not keeping it locked up so these kids can't dump school and kill themselves or somebody else.
This comes on the back of two similarly aged boys killed in almost identical circumstances up in Cardiff last year.

If I see a couple of youngsters (u14s) two up on an electric motorcycle* hoofing it down the street, is that a 101 call or a 999 call?
Because neither has gloves, let alone a helmet.

*not an e-bike or a pedelec. A full-on electric MX bike

I've a copy of Portishead's Dummy on vinyl that sounds like absolute dogshit. Unlistenable.
The difference in Goldfrapp's Black Cherry on CD (rather good) and vinyl (fantastic) is something else.
