Today is the release day for “Recipes for an Unexpected Afterlife” by Deston J. Munden. It’s also the first book published by Cozy Quill. And those of us who have been following Meg Hood of Cozy Quill are excited for her as well. I started it this morning over tea. I’m hooked after the prologue!
The book “Recipes for an Unexpected Afterlife” on a wooden table and a cup of tea nearby. The cover has drawings of a non-human baker with dark grey skin holding up scenes from a town including a bakery, trees, and maybe a castle. The scenes from the town are piled on his back. At his feet is a shadow. Part of the shadow has wings.

Eric Trump is when AI ingests American Evangelicalism and gets interviewed.

Eric Trump: "We're saving Christianity. We've saving God. We've saving the family unit. We're saving this nation. I mean, DEI is out of the window, Benny. You no longer have Colin Kaepernick kneeling for the national anthem. You no longer have Budweiser going woke as hell. All of this is dead."

This sadly demented man doesn't realize *he* was president on Jan 6, 2021. Get him in an assisted living facility ASAP.

On this date, Matthew Shephard died 27 years ago. He was beaten, tortured, and left for dead on fence for being gay. Please keep him and his wonderful mother Judy in your thoughts. And let's all work for a world where such horrific things do not happen to anyone. ❤️🏳️‍🌈

It's always good to see priests who still remember there are *seven* Catholic social principles. Also, that noise you hear is the USCCB screeching to the Vatican and getting back nothing, lol

Chicago priest Fr. Larry Dowling describes procession to ICE facility: “No one had the courage to speak directly to us. No one from Homeland Security could stand in the presence of the Monstrance holding the Blessed Sacrament. No wonder. Evil is repelled, recoils in the presence of Christ.”

This image shows a stack of six lightning bolts nearly striking the same spot six time in only one minute of elapsed time! Mother nature really had it out for whoever was down there... #photography
A sculpted, layered LP supercell at night. The structure is illuminated by six lightning strikes hitting the ground to the right of the storm. A clear, starry night sky is on the left of the storm. A car's headlights can be seen in the distance.

In 2 days, right-wing election groups have submitted over 200,000 new comments to the Election Assistance Commission to require Americans to show a passport or citizenship document for voter registration. We must drive comments to oppose this before 10/20.

The clear story in Immigration this week is the escalation of—and pushback against—the Trump administration’s militarized raids and warrantless stops in Democrat-run major cities. We’ve updated our timeline with a lot of events in this zone:

One year ago today, a spectacular aurora display graced the night sky across much of the globe. This was my view in *Oklahoma.* What a beautiful world we are fortunate to live on. #photography
Pink, green, and orange aurora pillars with a SAR arc and moon-lit clouds over relatively still waters of a large lake. The andromeda galaxy between a red SAR arc and the Milky Way. Numerous pinkish aurora pillars with a bluish-purple sky and spotty clouds over relatively still waters of a large lake. OK. It's going to be coming out soon because of the relentless investigations of Pam Bondi and Kash Patel, so I might as well admit it before the news breaks:

Photos from today's walk at the Seattle Japanese Garden (thread). I was quite taken with these red leaves, dangling by a bit of spiderweb in a way that made them look like they were falling.

Closeup of half a dozen red maple leaves, suspended mid-air by (near-invisible) spider web threads in a vertical line such that it looks almost like a composite image of a leaf tumbling down from the tree, twirling as it falls. Dark greenery blurry in the background.

They’re targeting New York Attorney General Letitia James for one reason: she had the courage to hold Donald Trump accountable.

This is political weaponization of our courts, plain and simple—and proof that when you stand up to corruption, they come for you.

Donald Trump is not a king — and his administration is not above the law.

Today, the court confirmed what we all know: there is no credible evidence of a rebellion in the state of Illinois.

And no place for the National Guard in the streets of American cities like Chicago.
