We’re back in court today because President Trump is refusing to fully fund SNAP benefits.

We’re filing a motion asking the court to force the administration to comply with their order and ensure 42 million people won’t go hungry.

(Not paying out any SNAP benefits is violating the court order. She can insist they're complying all she wants, but that doesn't make it true.)
Q: Trump wrote that SNAP benefits will only be given when Democrats reopen the government. As written, how would that not violate the court order?

LEAVITT: I've now answered this question several times. We are complying with the court's order

From Bovino's deposition: (1) he calls protestors "violent" if they articulate views hostile to ICE, even if no violence is manifested; (2) he instructs his forces to attack and arrest protestors who express "hyperbolic comments," which is to say, criticism of ICE and Bovino.
Maybe there's some hope for the climate between this plant and the deep-sea microbes that feed on methane (www.nytimes.com/2025/10/06/c...).
Another reason to love the mayor of Boston: She uses the direct-address comma! #grammarnerd

A more pertinent question: Why might one mayor in one city be a political liability for national Democrats, while the president, VP, various governors, and members of Congress are not for the national Republicans, let alone any GOP mayor?

How did that come to be? Who makes that happen?

Take your time, Officer Larimore. Now, tell us which sub sandwich best fits the description of the one that attacked you that night

Dems passed Obamacare and the American Rescue Plan, which dramatically expanded ACA subsidies, without any GOP votes. Tax fairness/affordable health care were central to both. Notably, it was the not the "woke" Dems but Sinema and Manchin who weakened key provisions, such as increased minimum wage.
I don't think it helps the debate about what Democrats should do to pick an obscure thing that some Democrat somewhere may have said -- like on teaching eighth grade algebra -- and then attribute it to Democrats generally.

Feel like some reporter should ask, "sir, how is it that you believe you can competently do your job when you repeatedly fail to hear, read, or see major political events that everybody's least media literate facebook uncle knows about?"

New in PN: Virginia and New Jersey can show that Trump isn't inevitable

"A powerful performance this Tuesday could help break the feverish doom loop of Democratic self-recrimination and elite capitulation which has contributed to our flatulent descent into fascist thuggery."

MAGA might be in for an ass-whuppin' on Tuesday.

The New York Times likes to say Trump "has stretched the limits of his powers” and “tests the boundaries of the presidency.” But this is not a test or a stretching exercise. He’s a lawless politician building a dictatorship. Say it. 🧵 1/3
It's almost as if Rs are in control of the government!
Hah! Didn't know Ella was named after Fitzgerald. That's great! Also great that Pablo is named after Picasso!

Recently my brother in law explained what gerrymandering was to a coworker and they didn’t believe him because if that were really happening there would be riots in the street
This week I had someone tell me they're not worried about SNAP being cut off because "that's illegal, so it's impossible Trump could do that, so obviously it's just media sensationalism." Another person told me they weren't worried about ICE because "they can't detain you if you're legally here."

At some point, the reliance on these euphemisms becomes a kind of propaganda or acquiescence.
The next time my teevee will be tuned to F*x will be during the 2026 World Series, hopefully to watch the #Yankees.
