I think Netanyahu is terrible and the attacks on Gaza have gone way too far. I also think people like you have cheapened the word "genocide" and toss it around so recklessly that there is no upside in engaging in discussion.

The war began after Hamas brutally attacked Israel and Israel has a right to defend itself. The civilian toll is horrific and eliminating Hamas is clearly not a realistic war aim. But the term "genocide" get used to shut down debate, erase Hamas's culpability, and smear people.

Too many people say "doing what you can to avoid spreading covid" and mean "staying home when I don't feel well enough to leave the house anyway." They don't usually even mean masking the whole time they're covid positive. It's exhausting.

I view masking the same way I view washing my hands after using the bathroom: It’s a very small sacrifice I make to not get sick and not get other people sick.

I mean, I’d love it if we required indoor air filtration in public-facing buildings bc it takes the burden off the individual.
