BARBARIAN: What did I miss?
GM: You’ve been abducted by ants. One goes up to each sleeping member of the party and puts what looks like a giant aphid on their forehead, then squeezes it so paralytic goo comes out and covers their face.
BARBARIAN’S PLAYER: Ursula, why are you like this?
#dnd while resting with the rats for the night, the party’s has been kidnapped by ants.

So that’s a thing.

We turned away from the light when we stopped putting the baseball bat on the counter the moment they walked into the bar.
Equally if not more mind-boggling is the number of people who aren't embracing the label but generally think it's no big deal to have Nazis walking around in polite society. I blame a decades-long cultural trend that has depicted social ostracism as worse than outright evil.

Beyond boggled at how "nazi" has been shorthand for "evil shithead" in every layer of society for my entire lifetime and these dudes are embracing it with open arms.
really did not expect to hearing about nazis all the time in 2025

The Times apparently decided it wasn’t important to mention in the headline it was the ICE agent who shot the U.S. marshal.

I should clarify that I meant “I am skeptical that the Supreme Court will ultimately allow a lower court to do this, whatever the actual law is,” not that it isn’t obviously right under the law.

I’m skeptical that a court can or will do this, but i think it has to be tried, because the GOP has descended to full lawlessness, and we don’t have any kind of government if the majority party can just refuse to recognize others.

EXCLUSIVE: One Saturday afternoon in October, my phone lit up with a notification.

I glanced down at the message.

“Anna, Lindsey Halligan here,” it began.

So began my text exchange with the woman who is prosecuting the president's perceived political enemies.

Speaker of the House holding a formal presser to announce that Jesus is the king of everyone in the USA should be getting more attention
Chip Roy: "The truth is the marxist, radicals, and Islamists the Democratic Party promoted this weekend, they cannot handle the truth. The truth is that there is a king and that king is Jesus. And the president has been willing to say it, & Charlie Kirk was willing to say it & he got killed for it."

Hey, Governor Buddy, how old do you think people are when they have kids?
DeSantis said “Most people, particularly under 50, what they really need is a catastrophic plan that’s affordable, where then they can pay whatever they’re doing out of a health savings account.”

Ron DeSantis says people under 50 don’t have much use for comprehensive health insurance
'Catastrophic care' should be enough for them.

This shows in so many ways Halligan is unsuited to be United States Dogcatcher, let alone United States Attorney. She writes a reporter whining about reporting but not offering any actionable specific things the reporter got wrong. There's NO WAY that helps anything.

signal is the birth control pill of phone encryption, it’s 99.99% effective when used correctly. the only way to be 100% assured of fail-proof safety is to never use Phone, but abstinence-only education doesn’t work, so
i feel like every time i see someone calling signal insecure it only takes a few questions for them to eventually arrive at one of two conclusuons:
- encryption isn't real you idiot
- signal is insecure because someone can drug you and beat you with a $5 wrench until you unlock your phone

The NATO Phonetic Alphabet (ALFA, BRAVO, CHARLIE etc.) is neither a phonetic alphabet, nor a product of NATO.

I've sifted through loads of old documents to find its true origins and, OSCAR MIKE GOLF, is it fascinating.

Those with sharp eyes might detect a subtle difference in NYT play last month of an event in one city, w 100,000+ attendees, versus play this morning of some 2500+ events w many millions of attendees, in all 50 states.

See if you can spot it! /s

This is quite a hed/subhed.
1) Start with Vance. Use strong action verb. Accept the autocratic premise that the “Marines’ Might” are Vance’s to flex.
2) Mention the protest second and absurdly describe them as in the thousands
3) Treat Trump’s strong man use of the military as a partisan scuffle.

Don’t let the frogwater that’s boiling us alive let you skip over this: we murdered another country’s citizens in cold blood, and when their leader objected, we called him a drug dealer and cut off aid to his country. That’s freakish.
Petro objected to the US bombing a Columbian fishing vessel that had the emergency beacon on because they were broken down, that we subsequently bombed. One Columbian fisherman survived the attack.

This is the official US response to Petro's comments.
