As with most things in life, have a plan if things go awry, but also be pretty darn confident, based on the statistics, that it will okay.

If you are a totally socially anxious person like me, rest assured that there is no socializing requirement to these things. 4/5

Things I have seen firsthand at protests this year:

- Cute dogs
- Kids that are very excited to be there
- Lots of passionate people who want to stand up for the Constitution
- Silly and funny signs
- People in fun costumes

But also remember, that is by and large not the experience of most protestors. I have been to four protests this year, and all have been completely peaceful. Peaceful protests don’t get a lot of clicks, they don’t go viral, so you’re less likely to see coverage of them. 2/5

A mom in Houston reported her 15-year-old son with autism missing. She spent 6 days terrified, searching for him. The whole time, Houston police knew exactly where he was since they helped ICE place him in a refugee facility.

This is beyond cruel.
