When y'all buy from indie authors, it impacts us profoundly. Especially if it goes outside the circle of authors trading a few dollars back and forth amongst ourselves.
I expected to sell 200 copies in the first year in my wildest dreams and it’s wound up selling 4,000 in that time 🥹

Tom Scot in the fastest car in the world.
Both the doctor and companion should be complete losers. Utter failures and embarrassing to themselves and others. And then they should improve one another through their adventures.
Tell me your most unhinged Doctor Who opinion. I mean, if you’re a fan, they’re likely all unhinged anyway.

In other news: Angry Robot Books has acquired Juliet E. McKenna’s The Riven Kingdom, described as a “fresh and gripping fantasy” that “blends politics, religion, and a battle for a dead king’s throne, perfect for fans of the Realm of the Elderlings series.”

Right, so, someone saying immigrants should have “A-level English” is someone who doesn’t know what the subject “English” is, which is learning to recognise and understand deeper meaning and symbolism in a text, to be able to analyse and deconstruct and get their own reading on a text

Me: your honor, may I approach the bench?

Judge covering his nose: absolutely not
And, yes, before @thatdocphoenix.com says so, Big Community Switch is a good drag name. 😝
Not usually one to get evangelical about things, but I can heartily recommend The Big Community Switch. Has almost halved our energy bill. Collective bargaining in action. Heard about it thanks to my trade union, of course.

Have just seen this and shouted Yes!
If Great British Energy was the energy provider we were promised, that would go a long way to addressing this. Why Labour won’t bite the bullet and do it is beyond me.
“Oh but they’ll attack us for it!” They’re attacking you anyway! Fucking DO SOMETHING!
"quarter of the typical energy bill in 2024 was profit. That is equivalent to every household paying £416 a year so other people can grow rich. The water industry tells a similar story. Almost a third of the average bill goes towards funding shareholder dividends and interest payments."

Being trying really hard to write again after a hiatus and am struggling. I used to be able to do pages and pages in a single sitting, but now I’m hitting a wall after two paragraphs. 😓
