This may work to your benefit! Hill repeats always make my brain pleasantly smooth for a few hours.

Dinner out of the Moosewood Cookbook tonight

(I also kinda think that this is way down the list of things that matter right now and that we really need to focus our energy on defeating the numerous weirdos who currently have power and want to use it to turn women into brood mares before we start kicking around any of these ideas.)

Last repost: that's basically the whole game. There is essentially nothing that has been shown to drive birth rates up other than more patriarchy and more coercion of women. So you can understand, maybe, why women get a little squicked out about how frequently this topic comes up On Here.
the thing is these are good things for their own sake but they do not actually work to increase the birthrate, as the European experience largely shows. pretty much nothing increases the birthrate that we've found so far, whether good welfare state stuff or natalist nationalism and anti-choice shit.
leftist plan to increase the birthrate:

- universal health care
- free child care
- better paid family leave
- better workforce protections so they can't lay you off while you're pregnant and be like "no it was for something else i swear"

ok i did it

As birthrates tumble, some progressives say the left needs to offer ideas and solutions
The US and other countries face aging, shrinking populations. Conservatives have shaped debate over the issue. Some liberals say it's time for progressives to weigh in.

A teenage boy was walking home in Minneapolis yesterday when four masked men jumped out of a van & questioned him - with no parent or guardian present.

He was bundled into the van & taken away.

Bystanders heard the boy say: “Can I just go home?”

I don’t know how America comes back from all this.

rather than talk about Scott Adams I want to talk about something weirder (me). Who else was really into Dilbert when you were 12. Who else was like, boy, I can't wait to work a cubicle job

I'm choosing to interpret Aaron Rodgers receiving his comeuppance in public and humiliating fashion as a good omen. You can't stop me.

Like Aaron Rodgers’ wife, Steelers pass protection is unseen but raises lots of questions

God, if that were my child… (end of sentence left as exercise for reader)

That’s a child. They beat, tortured, and humiliated a child, then left him to his own devices miles from home.

When will we all say that it’s enough? That it has to stop now?
ICE kidnap 17-year-old U.S. citizen working at Target then dump him bleeding and crying miles away in a Walmart parking lot… 🤬

The multiple reports of ICE guys in Minneapolis threatening people by saying “didn’t you learn from what happened to that lady” or similar tell you that they don’t even believe, themselves, that they murdered her because anyone was injured or in any danger.

A truly piquant combination of physical discomfort, emotional distress, and anger at Some Guy Who Fucked Up.

Minimally if the sun is up there should be no question that the restroom in a public park is available for use. Looking directly at you, PROVO.

I’ve started carrying a debit card for the inevitable quarterly duck into an open cafe or gas station. Does this involve more or less throwing the card at some poor guy while promising to come out and buy something in a minute? Well, maybe.

This could just be my social media bubble, but I don’t think I’ve seen any videos of people coming out in support of ICE. The only public support I’ve seen is one sign in Dauphin County, PA.

Instead, the only reward one typically gets for being known as a good peer reviewer is...more peer reviews on the desk.

No prob! I remember Oreos being the dirt on a Big Machines cake when our kid was a toddler, too.

My wife decorates cakes as a side hustle and says Oreos or fondant. The former if you’ll sacrifice some neatness in the pictures for it to taste good; the latter if you really want a couple nice pics before you peel it off and cut the cake. Both valid goals IMO
