I began writing this story with a naive question in mind: What do we lose when public education is privatized? A lot, actually.

By following the MAGA playbook, the UCP’s push against public education not only undermines democracy, it jeopardizes the possibility of a better future for all Albertans.

If you haven't read this yet, read it. Understand that this year's municipal elections are an existential fight - figure out who the UCP's allies are and vote against them. Democracy matters.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but sponsoring the fight against counterterrorism would make musk… a sponsor of terrorism.

this letter sounded bananas but reading it is really something else: totally disconnected from legal or historical reality, brimming with AI-generated nonsense, attributed to a made-up nation, and signed — this is the best part!!! — by "Manitou Wabski Kinew" !!

Did you know the first thanksgiving celebrated by Europeans in North America happened in Canada?
Or that the Indigenous celebrated autumn harvests long before Europeans arrived?
Why do we celebrate Thanksgiving a month earlier than the United States?
This is the story.

🧵1/10
A festive Thanksgiving dinner table featuring a roasted turkey as the centerpiece, surrounded by an array of dishes including green beans, stuffing, sliced ham, and a pumpkin pie. The table is decorated with pumpkins, sunflowers, candles, and autumnal flowers, with wine glasses and plates set for a meal.

This is horrible. I admire the courage of Senator Gerba to speak out on this. Too many Canadians want to believe racism isn’t a problem here, when it absolutely is.
