It was kind of Alien: Greatest Hits after that. All well done, just not really coherent, and we'd seen all the bits before.

If that was the first Alien movie people saw, I'm sure it was great.

'Life' was better, though. That's proper creepy.

A year or so ago I was trying to encourage one of those wispy little house spiders to not make her house on the inside of my bathroom door hinge.

I kept coaxing her out and she'd scurry right back.

Was the biggest one "We found most of a Xenomorph somehow frozen in carbonite just floating in space"? Cos that was the first five minutes...

I was up for finding out about indentured crews and stuff, though. That was new and interesting.

Agreed. The last three all have some good scenes, and mostly great design work. On the whole, though, they're not great *movies*.

Too much Plot and Lore and not enough knowing what they are. The first four movies have defined story-shapes.
The last three are Exciting Exposition.
