I had the latest version of Zotero--updated like two weeks ago-- so I restarted everything and it didn't work. So I am uninstalling and reinstalling to see if that works.

I really don't know why Zotero web extension decided to not function this week. Pfffft.

The CDC RIFs are terrible in more ways than just immediate impact to people’s health.

It’s bad enough that we will lose access to our own health data. It’s worse that these data can and will be weaponized against us.

Once again: this is also happening in DC. Still.

It feels like we’ve been forgotten, maybe because there aren’t huge confrontations to run photos of. But our neighbors are still being taken every day. Routine traffic stops are now done by 12+ feds alongside local police.

Please talk about us too.

"Residents in Chicago and Portland are living in a police state where masked armed forces kidnap who they want to kidnap, where they have to listen to public officials routinely lie about what is happening in their neighborhoods." donmoynihan.substack.com/p/purge-merg...

Federal Secret Police and plainclothes ICE agents kidnap multiple people from a neighborhood in Chicago. They then deploy teargas and brutally beat neighbors who come out to express their concern.

You're living through one of the biggest technological transformations in world history and it has nothing to do with AI

Grid scale batteries are changing our electricity system. Excellent new visual story on batteries in FT today shows just how far this technology has evolved.

Fasten your seatbelts, this is just the beginning.

They used the words but managed to use the worst photo, kudos

Low angle to give the appearance of dominance but also to highlight the labial neck folds and barely there comb-over, good work

Just in case the dramatically low Leni Riefenstahl-style angle was too subtle, they used a word from her most famous movie

* Over 20,000 Palestinians killed since January
* 100s starved to death, including kids
* Congress bypassed to send more & more bombs to Israel
* US citizens murdered in the West Bank

I hope this ceasefire holds & I am glad the hostages are free, but this is Trump’s *actual record* so far.

Biosecurity (in the late 90s) was the cynical play to get hawks concerned about public health, imo — and, well, based upon my review of soft policy docs and grey literature from that era

Dolly Parton’s “9 to 5 and Odd Jobs” includes a cover of Woody Guthrie’s “Deportee (Plane Wreck at Los Gatos),” written about a deportation flight crash that killed 28 migrant farm workers in 1948.

People don't need more evidence to conclude he's a white supremacist. Evidence isn't the issue here. The problem is convincing people that white supremacy is a threat rather than something they can elide and quietly benefit from without actually saying they like it.

Elon Musk is a white nationalist. Anyone who needs more data points to reach this conclusion is beyond help or persuasion.

If you buy, rent, service, or supercharge a Tesla you are supporting the most powerful white nationalist on earth. Period.

Between this, the resegregation of the military, and the retooling of the Department of Justice to focus on (fake) discrimination against white Christians, and eviscerating Civil Rights Act enforcement, they have nearly erased the structural legacy of the Civil Rights Movement.

People who say "you can't possibly read everything you cite" are saying a lot about themselves, IMO.

It doesn't have to be a heavy lift. I spend about half an hour a day processing new-to-me papers by organizing them in my reference managers & adding topical tags so I can create bibliographies.

My baby RIMA 💔
💔 She was born in a tent, under bombs.
Never saw a cradle, never touched a home.
Now she starves, while the world scrolls on
🥀 Her tiny legs bend from hunger.
No milk. No bread. No peace.
Just fear, fire, and silence.
