Look, folks, he's the *Speaker* of the House, not the Listener of the House or the Watcher of the House.

You can't expect him to be aware of major events that are unfolding right before him.

While we spectate on The East Wing being torn down, it isn’t just another hallway, it’s where Eleanor Roosevelt built the modern Office of the First Lady, where WWII bunkers were hidden, and where the public enters the People’s House. Erasing it is rewriting history.

Still appalled at how paltry and terrible the NYT coverage of the protests were and how nobody there feels any responsibility to address the criticism. This was not something that caught them off guard. This was many levels of decisions.

I know it's risky, but we need more on the inside to speak out.
Ordered to lie, fired when he refused.

My thoughts on the 60 Minutes interview of former DOJ attorney turned whistleblower, Erez Reuveni, and why any prosecution in the Trump Regime must be viewed with skepticism, if not outright disgust.

Tariffs are ruining everything — including the Texas State Fair.

$14 for fried oreos.
$15 for a funnel cake chicken sandwich.
$25 for a turkey leg.

DC politicians are pricing Texans out of our own state fair.

“I expected [the Trump admin] to try to eliminate the Department of Education, but not to deliberately wreck the Federal Emergency Management Agency, which helps communities in both red and blue states when they’re beset by disasters.” 4/
“Perhaps the most puzzling thing about the second Trump admin has been its attacks on pillars of American strength that pose no challenge to its ideology. It was predictable that the White House would gut support for the humanities, but not that it would defund pediatric cancer research…” 3/
“The dominant aesthetic of the administration comes not from antiquity but from A.I. slop, the tackier and more juvenile the better. The Trump gang’s compulsion to debase and cheapen almost everything they touch is far more than a matter of style.” 2/
“What’s curious is not Trump’s eagerness to degrade us, but his uncontrollable urge to defile himself & his office. Most national leaders do not willingly associate themselves with diarrhea. Rulers…tend to jealously guard their dignity. But not Trump.”— Michelle Goldberg, NYT (10/20) 1/

Little joy update: I am exhausted because my little orange cat jumped into bed at 2 AM and purred so loud she woke me up.

This is not the first time it’s happened and I will never be mad about it.

Here's a gift link to the New York Times' coverage of the initial Tea Party rallies in April 2009 which inspired the media to treat it like a massive movement.

Check out how tiny the crowds were:

Philly: 200
DC: "several hundred"
Boston: 500
Austin: 1,000
Houston: 2,000

I’m old enough the remember when the media stationed camera crews at congressional town halls and treated it like the biggest protest ever when one Tea Party person asked a question
