Do. Not. Engage. Don't make it worth their effort.
Remember folks. The original bluesky ethos by us bluesky elders (apparently I count?) is block and move on.

Don't quote dunk, don't pick fights.
Block, and move on.

This is what made this site unpalatable to the right early on, and we can continue to make it unpalatable to them.

While I'm not going to call this outright doomerism (I don't think the OP believes that all hope is lost) I will say that I am not a fan of comments like this.

Much in the same way that you shouldn't police someone's protest for being more aggressive than yours, I don't care to see criticism of...
No kings is theater and nothing more. Go if you want to help others towards acrual protests etc but be aware the rad lib theater this weekend isn't stopping fasciam.

I suspect the MAGA government decided to launch all these Bluesky accounts tonight to try to bait people in advance of No Kings.

These people have incurable 4chan brain and this is how they operate.

Block them. Do not engage. Do not give them what they want.

Thing my partner @drfrankenstein.bsky.social said about a week ago:

“Ai makes me miss Corporate art style.”

So controversial. I hate it. But also. Truth.
I'm treating those as troll accounts until they adopt their appropriate .gov domains or otherwise get verified.

And I just block troll accounts.
Treating Québec's society as a monolithic culture is what grinds my gears the most about this government… or really every Québec nationalist politician no matter the party.
ICYMI: “When the CAQ government says it wants to protect Quebecers and their unique identity, the implication seems to be that there is one identity — that of the majority. That would seem to exclude Montreal.” montrealgazette.com/opinion/colu...
Drimonis: CAQ ups the ante with divisive constitution plan for Quebec
Bill 1 could have been a unifying, non-partisan effort. As it stands, it looks mostly aimed at squelching dissent and diversity.

Sleep is a biological necessity, and sleep deprivation has real physical, psychological, and social consequences that need to be taken seriously. The way our society treats it as slothful to sleep according to natural rhythms (including midday naps and variant chronotypes like night owls) is evil.
Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?

That is how you write a lede. 👌
"I was married, but I’m not married anymore. Women don't like the vehicle," says Roger Davis, a Cybertruck owner.

Davis also uses the Grok feature in the car: "Her name is Aura, and I use her as a therapist."

I don't even believe in learning assembly and processor architecture for a CS bachelor's, but I do feel that you should have to write a few programs with just a language's run-time library and OS syscalls. Or better yet, nothing but the UEFI firmware.
I was talking about cargo cult programming the other day, and… yeah, even devs seem to be too far removed from the nitty-gritty sometimes.
we are too many layers of abstraction away from the gritty, ugly, manual process of moving bits in and out of memory registers
LRP: I keep repeating it, but natural language is actually a terrible human-machine interface. It's subjective and unreliable, and actually requires more mental effort than using traditional controls.

It looks cool in sci-fi, but when the rubber meets the pavement the advantages just break down.

Human-Computer Interaction 101:

No one wants to talk to their fucking computer unless the environment demands it (like while driving) or when it’s a small thing and you’re not at your computer (“siri, skip this track”). Most people don’t even want to do the latter.
This is the future of Windows. Microsoft wants to rewrite Windows to turn computers into AI PCs that you talk to. It's now bringing AI features to all Windows 11 PCs today, in a bid to convince you to talk to your PC and let AI control it. Full details 👇 www.theverge.com/news/799768/...

This is yet another sci-fi fantasy from douchebros who watched Star Trek as kids and saw people talking to computers and somehow forgetting that it’s a TV show and used for storytelling reasons.

(Plus even on Star Trek they mostly use keyboards.)
Gosh, the way you render expressions! 😍
