pursuant to the Special Elections Treaty of Gadsden, Alabama, I think Democrats have a shot at their first Georgia statewide executive office in twenty years
the-downballot.com
Very unusually, *Georgia* will hold statewide races this fall—a pair of elections for the 5-member Public Service Commission, which regulates utilities. The panel is all-GOP right now, but Republicans are worried about losing, reports @bluestein.bsky.social at the @ajc.com.
Georgia Republicans are on edge as Democrats target 2 Public Service Commission seats
Republicans are leaning hard into the red-meat playbook to defend two little-known Public Service Commission members they fear could lose next month.

Dear South Park dudes, I feel like maybe the tiny dictator dick should get a face and I know just the guy…

Them being this freaked out about a nationwide peaceful protest is real clear indicator that even they know they’ve jumped the shark with the American ppl. It’s a test, they wanna see if they can rule us by fear. We are gonna ace it folks.

Fox Propaganda is desperately spinning the "No Kings" events in fearful anticipation of their success.

They’ve had over a months vacation on our dime while their thugs attack our communities, also on our dime. Really starting to understand why the American revolution started with revolt against paying taxes to an oppressor in a real visceral way…

Today, House Republicans will take their 70th day off with pay in the last 82 days.

This is really why they defunded PBS.

And the policing tactics have been taken to scale. Turns out we are all anti-fascist , which is all we were trying to tell anyone then too. It was, fundamentally, a democracy movt. One of is slogans/largest coalitions was “Our World Is Not For Sale.”

Because it isn’t. And neither is our country. ✊

It is pretty amazing that Trump is getting praised by the media for the release of the hostages in Israel, meanwhile his own government is taking hundreds of people hostage every day here in the USA.

When Mike Johnson or another national leader repeatedly claims they haven’t seen relevant things in the news, an appropriate reporter reaction would be “Holy cow, how do you not know?!? How can you do your job without knowing what’s happening? What are you doing to fix your ‘not knowing’ problem?”
beijingpalmer.bsky.social
I don't understand why U.S. reporters so regularly seem to let politicians get away with 'I haven't seen that' about stuff a) they obviously know and b) is directly relevant to their job. Did they sign some kind of agreement never to ask a follow-up question?

REPORTER: We know the president moved forward with mass layoffs. We're also learning there were significant cuts to staff at special education services. Are you comfortable with those cuts?

MIKE JOHNSON: I haven't seen the specifics of that and I don't know

If we’ve learned anything it’s that most ppl take the money, wherever it’s coming from

I can assure you that the one thing a New York City cop is not gonna do about a mayor they don’t like is just quit. They might turn their backs on him, they will absolutely crush candies with greater abandon, but absent some real concrete better offer they’re not giving up that pension voluntarily.

Wow, wow, wow. This has always been legally possible but the law has virtually never been enforced — and now this is the SECOND case I've heard of in the last month (first involving a person with a green card) of a noncitizen being charged for failure to carry their papers.

Congratulations, America.
