I think you're right about the pacing and that the point the show is trying to make works way better if Peacemaker finds out the twist sooner, but still wants to stay, and what that conflict means about him, because he has to reckon with the fact that a world built to his preferences is... like that

Which, of course, I don't need Peacemaker to come on screen at the end and tell me what the Right Politics are but I don't think the show spends enough time to convince me IT believes that the worlds are way too similar

Yeah! I think the most radical thing the show does is have those dudes merc like 20 cops and are immediately shown to be "good", but then the show pulls the punch and are like "well on [redacted] world the cops aren't so good!" but never actually makes that connective tissue to "our" world.

I liked Peacemaker fine I guess, a bit confused about the mega positive reactions of it being a politically bold show (for pop culture)?

Not that the show doesn't have decent politics or whatever it just feels weird to see praise it for basically saying "hey the US is pretty fascist"... duh?
