Again, we should have clean indoor air rules for businesses, offices, healthcare settings, etc.

But we don’t. Our government hasn’t done its job. So we have to look out for each other.

We could really use a good, well-respected journalist to write about the true (and alarming) science on COVID & how it was propagandized & normalized so that tragically everyone now thinks it’s just a cold—and that they’re no longer in danger. Know anyone who might be interested?

I think there’s a middle ground where people mask more often, talk about Covid as an issue more often, which creates opportunities to get more resources and to reduce the Covid levels we’re seeing. The issue with denial is that it prevents any measures even if incomplete ones.

To say people make a rational assessment of the threat environment around Covid… is just not true.

Most people refuse to talk about or read anything about Covid.

Long Covid has surpassed asthma as the most common childhood illness, and it’s rarely spoken of.

i have fully given up on having a life that involves going out in public because no one wears masks and i am not equipped to get sicker than i already am in the hell that is america right now. i have entirely embraced being forced into an agoraphobic life because of it

No.

Our mask requirement is not "virtue signalling".

It's protecting a) the cancer patient and b) the child who is still too small to wear a mask.

And also--and I can't emphasize this strongly enough--you.

Crumbling at the notion of simply putting a mask on is tiny baby pathetic weaksauce. Anyone with such lack of resilience would not last a single week with an illness like Long COVID.

Yet they continue to risk getting exactly such an illness. 🤷 (Not to mention spreading it to others, too.)

Fear is a rational response to a terrifying situation. If you’re not afraid of SARS2, you are not paying attention.

(things said by people who have not undertaken a rational assessment of the threat environment since 2021)

I wish liberal covid deniers would actually engage with the piles of evidence on the continued danger of covid, rather than deeming everyone who has insane.

Bloodstream infections: A hidden crisis within the COVID-19 pandemic.

Bloodstream infections were present in 8.2% of COVID-19 patients globally, with the prevalence rising to 12.5% among ICU patients. Even more concerning, pediatric cases showed a 10.8% prevalence.
One in ten COVID-19 patients develop dangerous bloodstream infections | Health
The study paints a stark picture of how secondary bacterial infections complicate the course of COVID-19, especially in severely ill and immunocompromised patients. These infections often develop due ...

It's no coincidence. I find that it is exactly people who are used to being marginalised or somehow 'othered' that are best equipped to put up with the social consequences of sticking to what they know to be true over the demands of the people around them.

4. This utterly mistaken but seemingly widespread belief that Covid-19 has somehow gone away is precisely the inevitable result of declaring the pandemic to be over and tacitly allowing people to take that declaration to mean that SARS-CoV-2 has magically disappeared.

It is profoundly disturbing that at least 27 million people (with the true number likely being much higher) have perished from Covid-19 since 2020, and yet, most members of the human community do not appear to care at all.
