I just replied elsewhere about sewing technology as it ties to the price of clothing and I have a sincere request: If you've never watched someone make a dress shirt on a sewing machine, you really should find a video of it on YouTube. It will hit your brain like an avalanche seeing how it works.

This is my new pal, Primrose.
A brown Doberman in a red sweater. A brown Doberman looks at the camera like he’s Jim from The Office and Andy just said something crazy.

Wait until we tell you about long distance calls.
bondcliff.bsky.social
To be clear, I haven’t dialed that number since maybe 1978.
bondcliff.bsky.social
Fancy phones where you could program in a few numbers only came out in the late 1980s. They sent around phone directories once a year that had EVERY PHONE NUMBER IN YOUR TOWN.

My best friend when I was five years old had the number 653-0567. You didn’t need area codes back then for local calls. That’s not the only number I remember.

If anyone needs me I will be in the museum, lying down next to the bog bodies.
Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing?
2? Questions
I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up.
Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?

Just had to look up why they call him big dumper. Was not surprised.

The other day there was one flying in Poland. I’m only filtering on the five most common models so there might be a bunch that I just haven’t found.

AI, gambling, giant trucks. Men, if you don't get some more pro-social interests, the birth rate will continue to drop.

Y tried to take a picture of the large man. But now I'm like what is going on with butt plug shirt guy
The Jays game. In the first row a man is in a shirt with a huge black butt plug with 25 on it. Behind him is a very muscly man

I want Canada to win it all but I still kind of want to root for the Mariners. Like you, very torn. Just glad the Yankees lost.

Was gonna watch a YouTube video called "Anchors don't work the way you think," but then I realized I'm happier in my ignorance than I'd ever be if I knew the truth.

Thanksgiving #1 down. I will vote for whichever presidential candidate commits to adding ham to American thanksgiving dinner.
A plate piled high with bread, salad, squash, carrots, ham, turkey, stuffing, and mashed potatoes, all smothered in gravy. A display in a corner of a room of a Canadian flag, a large map of a lake, and a sign that says "Gather with a grateful heart" in that Live/Laugh/Love font that makes me want to puke.
