It still kills me that Protective Stadium/BJCC elected to put down artificial turf instead of grass. Birmingham used to get games in the dump that was Legion Field. Protective is way nicer (and smaller) but will likely never get a game because of the playing surface.

Just googled it. That does look like a cool little spot. This'll be my first time seeing him solo too. Had second row tickets here in Birmingham for a show several years ago and had to bail on it to go out of town so I'm excited to finally cross him off the list.

Brad Guzan retiring from professional soccer. Saw him play many many games with Atlanta United and the USMNT. That 2018 MLS Cup winning season was super special.

If this sounds half as cool IRL as it sounds in my head, this is gonna rule so hard. Stargazing while listening to Julianna Barwick open for Sigur Ros at the Woods at Fontanel 10-15 years ago remains a favorite concertgoing memory. Hell, that album cover looks like how his venue looked.

Kind of reminds me of doing a ranger lead hike in Montana one time and him telling people to use unscented soaps and shampoos in bear country.
