Sigh. May as well jump on the bandwagon, but with my own spin. For every 'Like', I will post up a song and a reason why I think it slaps, as the young 'uns say.

Brett Kavanaugh is basically arguing tha there have been "sufficient remedies" for racism.

This seems like a good time to bring up the @politico.com about how young Republicans have *remedied* racism.

‘I love Hitler’: Leaked messages expose Young Republicans’ racist chat
Thousands of private messages reveal young GOP leaders joking about gas chambers, slavery and rape.

We need to talk about how social media algorithms push moms down a slippery slope of distrust.

From "Are my kids getting enough support in school?" To "Maybe I should homeschool." To "Maybe modern medicine is bad."

I've seen this first-hand in research I'm doing on parenting apps. 1/🧵

Lads, I recently got informed that I should be wary of completely banning GenAI use in my classes in case I, by chance, penalized students inadvertently using it because it was embedded in their apps and programs.

When GenAI comes to Canvas, we are all so fecked.

The narcissism and vindictiveness of certain parties is, of course, why Ecclestone cashed in his sonic screwdriver.

Old Who, at its best, was TV written for clever children. Nu Who, at its worst, was TV written for dumb adults.

Tell me your most unhinged Doctor Who opinion. I mean, if you’re a fan, they’re likely all unhinged anyway.

I doubt it's unhinged, but The Name of the Doctor obliterates and makes meaningless everything about the Ninth, and all out of snarky spite because Christopher Eccleston wouldn't come back, which he'd said from the beginning he wouldn't do.

it's pathetic and petty, both in-universe and out-.

Given that every Doctor Who story arc since 'Bad Wolf' has been just 'Bad Wolf', remixed ad nauseum, you're not wrong. Shame it took everyone 20 years to realise RTD was just JNT with a reality distortion field.

My unhinged Doctor Who opinion is that all dormant legacy IP, including Who, James Bond, Star Wars and many, many more should just not be resuscitated. People can create New Things. And New Things can be exciting, risky and messy. And all of which should be championed over endless regurgitation.

Following the announcement of YourParty, support for 'Others' in opinion polls increased from 3.7% to 6.0%. It has since dropped back to 3.7%, with the Greens seemingly gaining, reaching a peak of 10.7%.

"Our way or the highway" is the only MAGA strategy. They don't want to govern; they want to rule.

Look Keira, the problem with is that the whole 'living together' thing has been made much easier for white cis women like you and me.

Why would a billionaire want a functioning paper? Functioning papers cover shit like “did you know this billionaire makes his workers pee into bottles instead of taking a break” and “you pay way more tax than a guy with ten yachts”

POLITICO: “.. They referred to Black people as monkeys and ‘the watermelon people’ and mused about putting their political opponents in gas chambers. They talked about raping their enemies .. and lauded Republicans who they believed support slavery.

Jack Kirby: "I was raised in an area where you had a lot of gangsters. I know what gangsters do. Hitler's gonna want war. You start jumpin' around and giving him what he wants, he's gonna feed on your weakness."
MARK: So the capacity for great good and evil is inherent in everyone?
JACK: Of course. I was dating my wife at the time Hitler was coming on, and I did this editorial cartoon which showed Neville Chamberlain patting a boa con-strictor, and the boa had a bulge called Czechoslovakia. Chamberlain had just given Czechoslovakia to Hitler, okay.
And the boa had Hitler's mustache. I showed it to my boss at the syndicate and he says, "How dare a 19-year-old like you do a cartoon like that? What do you know?" I says "Well, I was raised in an area where you had a lot of gangsters. I know what gangsters do. Hitler's gonna want war. You start jumpin' around and giving him what he wants, he's gonna feed on your weakness." And Hitler wanted more and more until there was a face-off.

Can't watch the John Candy documentary because it's too said. May as well go back to the underground extreme metal, horror fiction, grimdark wargames and writing non-stop splatfests...

CRAZY TALK!!!

Er wait that actually makes sense.

If you had $1000 saved in the bank your proportionate cost for Bezos buying WaPo would be $1.13.

One dollar and thirteen cents.

For Musk buying Twitter is equivalent to you spending about $110 of the money you'd saved.

It's almost as if, hear me out now, MAGA billionaires like Jeff Bezos (WaPo) and Elon Musk (Twitter) purchased key properties in our public square not as business investments, but so that they could turn them into vectors of right wing propaganda.

I’ve seen 21/38 films in Criterion Channel’s Hong Kong Action Classics. May not get through all of the unwatched titles, but I started with Sammo Hung’s Pedicab Driver.

It’s all over the place tonally: ribald farce, serious romantic drama, lessons on Respecting Women, friendship hijinks.
