Sigh. May as well jump on the bandwagon, but with my own spin. For every 'Like', I will post up a song and a reason why I think it slaps, as the young 'uns say.

Why would a billionaire want a functioning paper? Functioning papers cover shit like “did you know this billionaire makes his workers pee into bottles instead of taking a break” and “you pay way more tax than a guy with ten yachts”

Will the fools try to explain it away as 'not being serious' like they usually do.

POLITICO: “.. They referred to Black people as monkeys and ‘the watermelon people’ and mused about putting their political opponents in gas chambers. They talked about raping their enemies .. and lauded Republicans who they believed support slavery.

Jack Kirby: "I was raised in an area where you had a lot of gangsters. I know what gangsters do. Hitler's gonna want war. You start jumpin' around and giving him what he wants, he's gonna feed on your weakness."
MARK: So the capacity for great good and evil is inherent in everyone?
JACK: Of course. I was dating my wife at the time Hitler was coming on, and I did this editorial cartoon which showed Neville Chamberlain patting a boa con-strictor, and the boa had a bulge called Czechoslovakia. Chamberlain had just given Czechoslovakia to Hitler, okay.
And the boa had Hitler's mustache. I showed it to my boss at the syndicate and he says, "How dare a 19-year-old like you do a cartoon like that? What do you know?" I says "Well, I was raised in an area where you had a lot of gangsters. I know what gangsters do. Hitler's gonna want war. You start jumpin' around and giving him what he wants, he's gonna feed on your weakness." And Hitler wanted more and more until there was a face-off.

Can't watch the John Candy documentary because it's too said. May as well go back to the underground extreme metal, horror fiction, grimdark wargames and writing non-stop splatfests...

CRAZY TALK!!!

Er wait that actually makes sense.

If you had $1000 saved in the bank your proportionate cost for Bezos buying WaPo would be $1.13.

One dollar and thirteen cents.

For Musk buying Twitter is equivalent to you spending about $110 of the money you'd saved.

It's almost as if, hear me out now, MAGA billionaires like Jeff Bezos (WaPo) and Elon Musk (Twitter) purchased key properties in our public square not as business investments, but so that they could turn them into vectors of right wing propaganda.

I’ve seen 21/38 films in Criterion Channel’s Hong Kong Action Classics. May not get through all of the unwatched titles, but I started with Sammo Hung’s Pedicab Driver.

It’s all over the place tonally: ribald farce, serious romantic drama, lessons on Respecting Women, friendship hijinks.

I don't know how many times to point out that is absolutely ghoulish and non-consensual and disgusting behavior.
To exploit the image of a dead woman who was also exploited in real life so you can live out your momentary fantasies of "what is possible" with AI is bad science journalism, also.
Sick.

Marilyn Monroe in Game of Thrones? AI Could Make It Happen Soon

Despite early, and familiar, copyright growing pains, Sora may be the prelude to AI-generated on-demand TV and movies

Screenshot includes an AI generated image of what looks like a human cross between Daenaerys Targaryen and Marilyn Monroe on the back of a dragon.

Anyone who is in need of excellent & friendly audio production and cutting out AI should be talking to Fitz. I love a lot of peoples’ podcasts, but some of y’all should really be talking to him to uplift your end results. ;)

AI has tanked my audio production business, exchange rates and the cost of living crisis have tanked my English tutoring and, as someone with health conditions that needs to social distance, the remote jobs have all dried up with RTO.

Pretty desperate for work if anyone knows of anything!

On ID I remember in the 70s a Tory father of a friend of mine. Who became all 'who the hell do the police think they are' because his two teenager white middle class sons had long hair and rode motorbikes, and got harassed by the police. It made him an ally of the black youths being stopped.

I think it's just being so emotionally stunted and entitled to buy anything they (we) want that they cannot simply let the dead rest in peace.

So do White people in the west just believe it’s okay to resurrect the dead to make them dance and perform for your pleasure?
Is this a cultural difference?
Because where I come from, disturbing the dead usually comes with consequences.
Bad ones.

The English problem renders the Union toxic for the other home nations. Sharing a house with someone having a full-blown identity crisis isn’t wise. The best medicine for what ails England - and the rest of us - may indeed be an English departure from the Union

How Empire and the Union ruined England, by Neil Mackay

Social media is cooked. All the censorship, algos, AI, bots, disinformation, asymmetrical narratives, paid shills, etc. ruined it. They're dividing us up and building walls between us to hurt our engagement because we were using it for justice, protests, boycotts, strikes, etc.

They're embedding "influencers" not journalists in the ICE facility and around our city to feed the endless frenzy about ANTIFA, which doesn't exist, and creating foaming-at-the-mouth crises that live nowhere but their poisonous brains.

One surprisingly heartbreaking thing about living in these times is seeing young people who finally made it to college/graduated/got a job/achieved the thing they’ve worked so hard for… just watch their opportunities disappear. And it’s even worse because absolutely none of this had to be happening.
