you know most plant mass doesn't come from the dirt, but it's mostly reshaped air? the carbon in carbon-based life is taken from carbon dioxide. plants are little clouds, animals all eat those little clouds and one another. in a reasonably literal way we're all little clouds slowly fading in and out

I don't picture him as someone who has ever had any pets of any kind. Not even a goldfish. I can't even imagine him ever caring for any type of plant. His parents really dropped the ball when it came to teaching any kind of appreciation for life.
