I genuinely thought Bubsy died to absolutely nothing there, but it turns out a projectile egg was fired offscreen from the left, and I happened to hit it.

In this particular frame, of the above video Bubsy notices mid-jump that there is an egg right above him, which was only partially visible for a few frames.

In the one frame before contact, the bobcat thinks about the predicament. Why must he be a fragile creature in such a hostile environment where one rolling cheese wheel or tumbleweed can mean his slapstick demise.

Does Super Mario shatter into a million pieces when a pixel of his shoe touches an egg? Does Sonic the Hedgehog turn into a pancake when he falls from a great height? Would the Turbo Tunnel in BattleToads cartoonishly rip in half like a piece of paper if they touch the ramp even slightly incorrectly in the turbo tunnel? Heaven forbid, is there anything that could possibly go right for the ol' Bubster?

These questions and more fill the bobcat's head. But none of them can be answered. There is only one thing Bubsy can really say before he loses the last of his nine lives...

Fun fact about the 2004 Garfield movie: The scene of Garfield falling into the lasagna truck looks slightly different to how it did in the trailer.

The lasagna he licks from his finger now comes from a tray instead of a splash of lasagna on his fur, possibly so kids didn't think he was bleeding.

A comparison of the scene in Garfield: The Movie (2004). After a lasagna truck cushions his fall from a great height, Garfield says "Once again, my life has been saved by the miracle of lasagna" before grabbing some lasagna with his paw and licking it off his finger.

In the trailer, he grabs the lasagna from a splash of it that landed on his belly when he fell into the truck. In the movie itself, he grabs it from a partially-filled tray of lasagna resting on his belly.

Something I love about this episode is how despite Professor Utonium not realizing how much of a bad friend Dick Hardly was during his college days...

...as soon as Dick refers to his daughters as "things" that could make them both money, Professor IMMEDIATELY cuts ties with him and kicks him out!

After the moment discussed in the post, Professor Utonium confronts Dick Hardly in front of his house in a tranquil fury.

Professor starts: "Listen. I don't appreciate you referring to my girls in that manner."

Dick's responds with a shrug. "Come on!"

But the Professor doesn't take. "''Come on'', nothing! You just keep clear of me and my kids, ''pal''. Consider our little visit over." He slams the front door closed, leaving his now-former friend alone outside.
