You gotta start somewhere, and there'll never be the optimal best place to start that ticks all the boxes. I'm curious about GW2 because I like MMOs broadly and am curious to see how it develops as I move from content made in 2012 to 2025 more than anything

Yeah it is just flat out worse in very quantifiable ways (the translation feature is so slow and rubbish in comparison!) but it's a good idea to leave the adware application behind

Yeah I keep finding fringe cases where Firefox refuses to load things properly so I think I'll have Chrome in the holster for those moments too. I'll miss how perfect it was lol but I'll acclimatise to how the other half lives.

Yeah the thing that caused me to shift from Chrome was that they killed uBlock and I can't be bothered to keep finding workarounds. Without it the internet genuinely feels like sifting through the sewers.

Main thing for me was the story and the music and voice acting, made it such a rich feeling world to sink into for as long as I did. Granted I was never a dressup/roleplay/raider. Other MMOs are very "make your own fun, the story is offscreen" in a way I just don't mesh with

I used to play FFXIV a lot from the release of ARR to Endwalker! It really set the bar for that kind of thing for me

Looking at these now I've noticed that my colour choices have been a lot more washed out this year across the board... Idk what the deal is with that or if I should course correct back lol, I just always do what I'm feeling comfortable with

you can always make your "annoying"-coded character more annoying by having their mere presence obscure some of the ui
