#nonrenewables
Its about denying the future of renewables for the past of oil and nonrenewables ..
January 4, 2026 at 5:21 AM
And also why can't we simultaneously revolutionize extraction industries to be lower-impact, better for workers, etc. we already did this in the coal era and can use the knowledge and infrastructure from nonrenewables to apply better practices for renewable materials?? We're not starting at zero!
"but what about those minerals we need for batteries and solar panels?" those less capable of thinking a few steps ahead will shout.

You see folks, using those other technologies doesn't require that you SET FIRE to the resource you've extracted. Those resources are still there to be recycled.

Alas people concerned rising prices tracked as #inflation

Politicians point out many everyday necessities not affordable our #economy

My Substack focus #sustainable prosperity explains #economic drivers in play driving up cost thru supply demand nonrenewables

Why politicians promote affordability ignoring the economic drivers of inflation …
Unfortunately, most politicians are economically managerially illiterate getting elected on intentions versus presenting to voter's actual inflation reality in play

"how to say you don't understand the distinction between renewable and nonrenewable resources without saying you don't understand the difference between renewable and nonrenewable resources"
(yes, caveat: solar cells require lots of materials, OTOH, so do nonrenewables).

if you think renewables are bad and so are nonrenewables, why are you using electricity

Investment in nonrenewables, mining without renewable infrastructure & Canadian research is irresponsible. China’s sodium-ion sand batteries are changing the game. In Finland innovation demonstrates new methods that could be used in remote communities today. #Budget #CdnPoli

if people had any idea where those nonrenewables come from or the _real_ costs of making semiconductors
September 15, 2025 at 6:38 PM
there are far too many nonrenewables (remember where they come from?? not from a stork) and toxics embedded in all computer hardware for it to be a simple "buy and landfill" process

the hardware should be priced with externalities considered, and the lifecycle should be heavily regulated

I don't think people realise the extent of the waste here. All the nonrenewables going into these things, and the water, energy, semiconductors, building materials, hundreds of metals and minerals mostly extracted under genocidal conditions: We can't afford to WASTE any of it, and yet here we are.
August 11, 2025 at 2:47 PM
Yeah I think they fully just made up that metric. I've never seen anyone else use that, they invented it so they could have something that solar & wind were worse at than nonrenewables.

I’m sure the notoriously infinite resource of Petrified Dinosaur Shit will save us from the fact that electricity is becoming harder to produce thanks to an over-reliance on nonrenewables so as to enrich like three dudes whose median age is 235

Also how they’re never compared to the aesthetics of nonrenewables. A coal plant is an ugly, ugly eyesore!

#Water is #life. #FirstNatioms know this. #UCP is only about ripping out our #nonrenewables, #frakking #polluting and careless #violations of our #earth. I'm sick of their #selfish agenda. I believe #Albertans, including #farmers and rural areas are starting to get pissed with #DanielleSmith #abpoli

Bad short term news for clean energy companies, but it actually strengthens their long term outlook. Trump's strategy will hasten the exhaustion of nonrenewables and their inevitable (with scarcity) price increases. The loser is the environment.

The policy shift risks $373 billion in clean energy investments as the White House directs agencies to tighten the rules on who can claim the incentives that remain.

As do in-the-know #Albertans. We need to expand our horizons, #diversify and augment with #renewables so we can wean from #Nonrenewables while we can. We have so many opportunities. #ableg #abpoli
80% of Ontarians want to cancel the GE-Hitachi nuclear deal.
70% prefer wind and solar over U.S. reactors.
88% support electricity ties with Quebec & Manitoba.
72% back zero-interest heat pump financing.

Ontarians want renewables, not new nuclear.

#Canada has some of the most impressive options for #greenenergy and we need to stop going backwards. #Nonrenewables aren't the single, sustainable answer. Look to science for natural carbon capture (peatmoss bogs) and other ideas while we wean off gas, oil and coal. #green #cdnpoli #renewable

Much of the EU and UK made a brave but difficult choice to establish control over their energy future by weening themselves off the Putin-Russian nonrenewables teat. Their economic future is brighter because of this tack. The planning has clearly shifted away from nonrenewables and Putin.

They're all moving to #Alberta awaiting #Smith and the wholesale sell-off of #Alberta #minerals #O&G #Nonrenewables to Trump. Then he'll push these dummies to sell our #water, #land and anything else not nailed down. #51State anyways 'cuz I don't trust the #UCP to make good deals.Think #coal #ableg

#Trump is a #Putin #wannabee
He has plans for #Canada #minerals #water #nonrenewables #agriculturalprairies
And #Canadians would be his new lower class serfs. See how he crushes his own government and bankrupts his middle and lower class #Americans. #deports #humanbeings to #gulags #killseconomy

And what about their #provincial #premiers and #governments who have the power to destroy designating areas like #parks, or #mountains, #grassland, #water in order to suck out #nonrenewables? Refuse #greenenergy in order to play nice with #O&G, like #Smith in #Alberta? #ableg #abpoli #UCP #cdnpoli
