The size (barrier to entry) is still a big factor, though - also I don't trust that MS wants to compete for long at anything - they don't want to give up money but their pride and joy is telling their customers where to go.
"So, you're basically telling your students that someone else can do your job as well or as willingly as you do. That is a choice. I hope you have money saved."
They always do but their voters may not care. Eventually I hope they will need to find immigrants to do their jobs but won't be able to (because there's no one dumb enough to work for them or their bosses).
It's clear from creating DOGE and his other actions that Trump has contempt for federal employees (among others). He was chosen in part for it, after all (his contempt, like Walt Whitman, contains multitudes).
deeper in the forest might have been better
Where's the money coming from (or was it already given out and just not yet spent)? I thought the government was shut down.
They'll find that out when they don't have immigrants to do what they need done, so they'd better figure out how to grapple with it without exploding their heads. Or not, I guess.
the Khmer Rouge had great culture - that's what we remember about them, right?
Isn't Supply Side Jesus the one in the prosperity gospel? I wonder why they've both gotten popular.
It's more like an oligopoly (like gasoline/oil companies, credit cards) which isn't the same but probably has less difference to the people using them than they'd like.
The problem is that stuff is most efficient when big, and people owning big businesses tend to be not great and use their power.
And things get cheaper on scale (sometimes more efficient), and particularly when people cut budgets, it's hard to spend extra to maintain a capacity just in case or to avoid empowering monopoly.
in the US, I think of credit cards - lots of stores discourage cash because they prefer to outsource the handling of cash to others, and since there are not too many credit cards with general acceptance, lots of businesses run much of their cash flow through a few banks (with fees set accordingly).
I think you're confusing the god they claim to obey with the one they actually do
Fair. Sorry for the Neanderthal slander. The problem is that most species can't behave like them and expect not to be extinct shortly. It may just be us - you have to capable of being smart, dumb enough to choose otherwise, and mean enough enough not to care how self-destructive you act.
A lot of opportunity in business seems to be monetizing work that lots of people did for free to make things work (or to build things for the long run and thus didn't expect full value for). It makes breaking society profitable. For a little while.
that assumes his family doesn't strangle him
1) they don't care about Christ or anyone else other than as a means to get what they want so doing something for someone else's sake is unlikely
2) this fits in the same way the GOP says it's the party of limited government and the one that fought the Nazis (rather than electing them) so.
because they're chaos engines and you can't predict what they'll do, so when they do something you don't anticipate you have to decide whether you need them to stop RIGHT NOW or if it's somewhat OK.
He's really good at giving other people's stuff away and taking the credit for the "benefits".
unfortunately, sometimes for me you can skip the word after "reading", tyvm
Since words don't appear to mean much, maybe they should just give a presser of grunts. "We strong manly men. Dems weak loser women. People not like me bad. GRUNT GRUNT GRUNT." I imagine it reported as "Republican leglislators tune appeal to Neanderthal voters and neo-First-Amendment advocates."
I assume they didn't explain why if the Democrats are at fault, they haven't bothered to put the House in session. I wonder why.
Apparently this is what happens when you hire NK and RU social media people for your media offensive.
consistency is a duty for lesser beings, apparently
it's more like his unadmirable traits cancel out, like two negatives making a positive
Of course he did - someone that competent and honest would have kept all the receipts.
I almost hope he invested his retirement funds in crypto.
