What a hugely disappointing response from the Mayor. He labels candidates as sensitive and saying abuse comes with the territory. This attitude is why things won’t change. Poor leadership.
Mayor Weston Kirton said one of his hoardings had been pushed over or blown down, but he had not personally faced harassment. No-one condoned harassment, he said, but "it comes with the territory" "This campaign is no different than the past where some candidates are more sensitive than others. My experience of the reception from the public so far has been great and positive."

not to put too fine a point on it but from the little bits of the match that I watched before I left to play disc golf I was literally chuckling at the advertising hoardings in Newcastle advertising the Saudi pif. that is financial doping 101.

Spent almost five hours today fixing our hoardings. Some damaged by wind, but a lot by vandalism including this one completely smashed up in Ponsonby.

Thing is, it's essentially only OURS which are being intentionally vandalised over and over again. Makes you wonder...
Ripped out of the ground and smashed up hoarding timber frame in Western Park. Corflute signs missing completely after being broken out of the frame.

Went on a sign maintenance run tonight to fix damaged hoardings & clean graffiti. From 3 sites I visited only Labour, Greens + an Alex Baker hoarding were vandalized. Unlike these right-wing snowflakes we just don't throw a pity party every time a sign gets damaged.

I'll never forget the incident where Alexis got shunted into that pit the camera operators use at Carrow Road, or Debuchy's Arsenal career ending before it started when he clattered into the hoardings at the Emirates. And then there's the slope at Old Trafford (with added brick edging!).

Nureddin for me too, but he lost some shine when he & supporters putting up hoardings blocked the footpath & didn’t bother engaging with us when we walked past as obvious locals carrying groceries. Missed opportunity & oblivious to blocking the thoroughfare didn’t sit well with me
