Day 10 of my Edwardian #AdventCalendar is Queen Alexandra’s magnificent 1902 gold coronation dress with raised collar. The dress was made by Parisian fashion house Morin Blossier, and became the first royal outfit to include the national emblems of Britain. Royal Collection Trust #fashionhistory

One of the makers to feature in my book is Madame Roxey Caplin. She was an inventor & made many adjustments to corsets in the 1850s. This blue corset was displayed at the Great Exhibition in 1851, bringing her to the attention & patronage of Queen Victoria, London Museum #FashionHistory 🗃️🪡

The designer of Times New Roman, Stanley Morrison, was a conscientious objector in 1916 and was imprisoned for his pacifist beliefs.

These dipshits can't even vice signal without screwing it up.
Times New Roman is an imported font, developed for London newspaper The Times in 1931. You know what American-designed font cooked up in 1994 would be perfect for this regime? Comic Sans.

A doozy, uncovered by victim-survivor advocates Backbone Collective. Officials said if the courts found out people were at risk of family violence, the system would have to do something about it - a massive change. So they decided it was best to sweep victim-survivors, incl children, under the rug.

As we end another year with the PM refusing to front on Q&A, a reminder the reason you won't hear much about it compared to when Ardern skipped Hosking's show is because NZME don't care about democracy, or holding power to account, or even journalism – they exist to spread Tory propaganda.
Compare when Ardern cancelled her weekly slot on Hosking's show vs when Luxon has cancelled or skipped three media slots.

*Everyone* covered the Hosking snub, but a big part of the reason for our polluted discourse is NZME flood the zone with shit through their reach.
