Yet another govt treaty policy based on a simple lie: in this case a lie about the intentions of the Key govt when passing the MCA. These people just do not feel bound by truth or reality. They think they can just create their own reality

Opposition promises to repeal marine and coastal rights law change
The changes have been passed in Parliament, but critics say they diminish Māori rights.

we're not talking about a generic skull and crossbones tattoo here - Graham Platner's tattoo appears to be a straight-up 3rd SS Panzer Division Totenkopf.

not subtle!

I am now ready with a take: It is good when negative things about candidates come out before people vote rather than after they vote.

We're not feeding #kakapo on Anchor Island this year: with a big rimu mast predicted, we're expecting them not to need help. It's also part of our plan to reduce management intensity. #conservation #parrots

#kakapo breeding starts with the feeding. For the last month we've been putting out food on Whenua Hou to get the adults into breeding condition. We need the males fat enough to boom and the females heavy enough to produce eggs (although not too hefty or their chicks will all be males). #parrots

Genuinely appalling to see Collins cosying up to Noem, who is a climate change denying, no abortions for anyone ever, anti-state funded health care, anti-immigration Republican. AND the current boss of ICE.

Also, NZ politics reporters need to start fucking paying attention to the wildly illegal actions of Noem's stormtroopers and *actually ask coillins about it*

Luxon is a mean, clueless rich nothing who keeps failing up, Seymour is racist and amoral and Peters is the right wing bandwagon guy. But while those guys get most of the headlines, Collins and her determination to sell us to Trump may be the most dangerous of them all.

Judith Collins calling open fascist Kristi Noem a friend and posing for photo ops with her would have her hounded out of politics in any reasonable democracy - and a functioning, non-propagandistic media would lead that charge

Unfortunately we have neither of those things in NZ

Shame on this government for the deeply racist Marine and Coastal Area (Takutai Moana) Amendment Act, just passed into law.

Genuinely horrifying malevolence. NZ is being pulled into violence and complicity in Trump administration crimes. We didn’t ask for this and it’s not in our name.

Moreover - surprise, medical unions can do maths and count up the fake salaries, beds and jobs you claim exist, and teachers can immediately isolate your bad faith lies and speak clearly and impactfully to the media about it, it's as if they're highly qualified and educated professionals.

So much of this govt's strike messaging is 'these selfish ingrates are paid well & don't have the moral right to strike' which is so far beyond believable reality that it's just a weird choice. If they just said 'no money left soz', they'd get more public sympathy than for this Evil Mr Burns stuff.

Remember that article about the music teacher who refused to join his union but said he still benefited from all union negotiations so he was a big brain?

Months later on he was complaining about how it had been 6 months since union members got their pay raise & non members had got nought #NZPol

The Free Speech Union should be screeching from the rooftops - why hasn't the NZ Herald named this person. But they won't because they are all good buddies with Grenon.

This is sad news for Ōtautahi. Whenever people were emailing their MPs to urge them to advocate for justice I never had to, Duncan was always openly fighting our corner anyway.

I suggest MPs' salary increases should be no higher than the lowest increase won by public servants in collective bargaining during the corresponding parliamentary term. If we can't afford to pay teachers, nurses & doctors more, then we can't afford to pay politicians more either. #NZPol
