Still no solution for this, but I think I might go for the manual approach. It'd mean manually making thumbnails for each artwork I'm showcasing, which is a bit annoying, but at least I'd have full say in the cut it'll give me. And the load time increase would be neglectable

I actually ended up cutting that part lol, it was initially for registration but it was harder to ink the block and not get ink on that side. So I just cut it up too.
