Winters morning in the Campsies.  A particularly cold morning saw a strong frost and fog patches merge into a dynamic Scottish winters morning image.

A misty morning over Balfron, with a slight dusting of snow.

I know the feeling. For me, it's seeing the hills that mark the Highland boundary line- the Ochils or the Campsies- even though I've been out of Scotland since the early 90s.

Winter Solstice sunrise in the Campsies, Scotland, 2025. It only happened for 2 minutes, this three image stitch was the peak of colour & texture.

Lovely crisp wintry day. Beautiful view across to the Campsies.

Another temperature inversion image from the Campsies and this was the most dynamic one I have seen to date. A wind was blowing the top of the inversion along creating this effect as the cloud layer moved quite quickly.

I'm going to post a few temeprature inversion images of mine from recent times over the coming week. I'll start with one of the most breath taking scenes I have seen at the Campsies. You can normally see over 20 miles at this viewpoint which gives you a sense of scale.

Went a walk in the Campsies north of Glasgow and can testify to this - there was a house with solar panels somewhere on the outskirts of the city that was absolutely blinding you when you looked in that direction, was quite surprising

Looked like something from a house of horrors. Came across it 3 different times. Never seen it before…

Looked like something from a house of horrors. Came across it 3 different times. Never seen it before in my life, would love to know what it is!

Interesting (in a not positive way). I remember some pretty imaginative driving in Glasgow but my worst cycling experience was on a sunny day in the Campsies.

I cycled down a lane, past a couple shagging in a car...it was a cul-de-sac!!!

I had to do a 180° turn and cycle past them a second time 🤦‍♂️

Walking up Slackdhu in the Campsies this afternoon, as a few patches of this fungi. Golden Spindles I think. Happy to be corrected. #Fungi

Up The Campsies!

I think the top of Ben More there is the furthest point. Queen's Park isn't high enough to see over the hills to the north or south, so we're basically looking up through Strathblane, between the Campsies and the Kilpatrick Hills.
