I'd like to believe owning a chop saw makes me a professional cabinetmaker but yeah think we are safe for a while yet 😅

*AND* my mate is a cabinetmaker, and his employers have all been too small to be required by NY State law to provide #health #insurance!

studying Björn's build

I figured he must be around 115 kg. He's quite muscular, with a protective layer of fat, and also incredibly strong—it's a result of all the physical labor he does as a carpenter and cabinetmaker.

Our first man has joined the party and he's a 17th century furniture reproducer who played birthday songs on the trumpet

Oops, I’m a farm boy and son/helper of a bootlegger who, at age 16, killed 2 cops who, while delivering a warrant to arrest my father at midnight, killed him in our front yard. This was 1951 near Boaz, AL, and I was paroled in 1957. I became a wood crafter and cabinetmaker, during in 2006.
Well, now I'm an English professor...

A little bit of inspiration to take from 1850’s Boston. From Battle Cry of Freedom by James McPherson.

"There's no substitute for putting in the work" is something a cabinetmaker may say who spent years honing his craft, who has an intricate understanding of different wood types and builds beautiful cabinets.
Yet, how many people own handmade wooden cabinets and how many own Ikea bookshelves?

Some locals further upthread said that was the cabinetmaker (and the owner was a local periodontist).

It has been widely reported, definitively, that what is at Mar-a-Lago is a (not-so-exact) replica made by a French cabinetmaker.

The original desk, unequivocally, remains in the Oval Office.

No, Trump did not move the Resolute Desk from Oval Office to Mar-a-Lago
Evidence overwhelmingly indicated that the historic, 1,300-pound desk remained in place.

He was a cabinetmaker? Did he perhaps make a headboard? 😆

Jane Austen's 250th birthday today brings to mind her 1804 visit to Lyme Regis when the Austens met local cabinetmaker & fossil dealer Richard Anning. It's unlikely Jane ever met his 5 year old daughter, Mary Anning, but it's tempting to think she may have seen them searching the beach for fossils.

Knew somebody who was actually a cabinetmaker for huge McMansion builds and, uh. It was not a bad gig if you didn’t mind frequent, unhinged requests where money was no object

At 34 years old, Simon Ashby took a huge risk, trading in his office job of nine years to become an apprentice for a Perth cabinetmaker before enrolling at TAFE. #national #wa

This is incredible. Is this an IKEA hack or are you a seasoned cabinetmaker? I aspire (even to do an IKEA hack).
