I can date it's approximately purchase by knowing that Amazulu and Dire Straights were on Top of Pops, and that the last series of AYBS was being shown, cos these the first things we taped

It was still run by the family at that stage, and we were expected to address them as "Mr [first name]". We found AYBS? hilarious because it was so close to the truth. I worked in the bookshop, but two years was long enough and I moved on to library work.

They gave it a brief mention on the way to talking about George And Mildred so they acknowledged it. I guess the reason why it wasn't 'featured' was because they went with G&M but yes, it's an obvious omission, along with AYBS - both being hits in the States (MATH remake and original AYBS).

Said it before but I know it got absolutely slated when it first went out but actually quite a funny show and certainly better than the last couple of series of the original AYBS (watched a lot of old comedy during lockdown and actually found in general I preferred G&F).

The 1970s-80s British comedy Are You Being Served? I recorded every episode shown on my local Fresno PBS in the mid-90s and watched obsessively. I still can quote episodes.
