Lots of waders around Dowlais this morning. A wonderful display by 1000s of Dublin . They looked like a shoal of flying sardines at times! Also 33 Grey Plovers with a few Knot thrown in for good measure. Best of all was meeting fellow Birders @doodlebeth.com and Daz for the first time.

The ship has a standard bridge module, but the set is such a strange shape that wouldn't fit.

I think its an axillary control room - it has an area for piloting/command, areas for various consoles (possibly engineering control), and a transporter.

In addition to scent & color, the shape of the flowers is likely attractive to flies (Diptera). On A. tricaudata (“3 tails”), the long attenuate lobes of the perianth are probably fly attractants. Flies, it seems, like that sort of thing. #TropicalBotany #Aristolochiaceae #Botany 🌾🧪🌱

When a pollen-bearing fly enters the flower of an Aristilochia (like this A. samarensis), the journey is 1-way: Downward-pointing hairs prevent escape. The flower is in the female phase, so the stigma picks up the pollen from the fly.

Axillary crutches are made for short term injuries, such as a broken foot or a twisted ankle, surgeries on the leg, etc. These crutches are meant to be supported against your torso but, if you’re using it for the entire day, your posture is bound to relax and it’ll force itself against your armpit, which can cause a lot of pain and even nerve damage. If possible, in modern AUs, avoid drawing or writing Viktor using this type of crutches.

had tissue-level analysis done to examine which cells took up the mRNA-LNPs. If you guessed it was predominantly antigen-presenting cells that took them up (as has been shown in every study looking at this question), you would be right. Interestingly, some uptake was also seen in B cells.
Representative microscopy images of lymph nodes showing fluorescent signals for sites of mRNA-LNP expression (images reflect the presence of the DiD lipid). RT-qPCR showed that in the lymph nodes, most mRNA is taken up by the axillary nodes following deltoid injection. In D, peripheral blood mononuclear cells were examined for presence of mRNA sequences by RT-qPCR at 4 and 40 hours. There is Signals of presence of mRNA LNPs within specific cell types. Key point: there is a small signal of uptake of the mRNA-LNPs from CD4+ cells (which presumably reflect CD4 T cells). The signal in T follicular helper cells is also present at similar levels. The signal is larger for CD20+ cells (which reflect B cells). These are about 10-fold smaller than the signals for myeloid lineage antigen-presenting cells. Notably, cells with detected LNPs have much higher levels of CD40 expression and higher levels of MHC class II expression, indicating they are activated.

I wanted to update you on my shoulder pain treatment and ask for your guidance on next steps. As you recommended, I saw the orthopedic specialist, who referred me to physical therapy for dry needling. I've been doing this treatment for three weeks, and while it is successfully relaxing the muscle tension, I'm experiencing increased pain spikes, particularly after treatments and my daily prescribed exercises. I should also clarify something about my nerve trauma history that might be relevant. The damage was from repeated impacts specifically targeting the spot where the axillary nerve sits close to the surface, with my PT confirming that specific spot. At the time, my father thought it was just a pressure point, but looking back, I believe this caused chronic nerve trauma over time. Given that the muscle-focused treatments are helping with tension but worsening my pain, I'm wondering if there might be deeper nerve involvement that we should investigate. My physical therapist has mentioned they don't have extensive experience with nerve injuries. Would nerve conduction testing make sense in my situation? I want to make sure we're not missing anything before continuing with treatments that seem to be making the pain worse. I'd really appreciate your thoughts on the best way forward.

a few pendant, light green and pale yellow composite flowers at the tip of a green-stemmed panicle. long for their size, these drooping blooms are sheathed in smooth, light green involucral bracts, which curl back at their pointed tips. the nearest flowerhead is freshest, while the two behind are fading. the near flowerhead contains five ray florets and no disk florets. these rays are pale yellow, and their strap-like corollas curl back like the tips of the phyllaries. matching the rest of the flower, the red fused stamen tubes and the yellow styles that grow through them are long and slender. the tops (or bottoms, as they are hanging downwards) of the styles is coated in powdery yellow pollen. the top of a tall rattlesnake-root, bearing a loose panicle of pendant flowers (most are still flowerbuds in fact). there are also axillary panicles on the upper leaves. the relatively long dangling flowers/buds are pale yellow-green. a few blooming flowers on one branch of the panicle reveal the pale yellow color of their recurving ray florets (there are no disk florets). a long, bifurcated, curling style hangs from the center of each floret, with a reddish collar composed of a tube of fused stamens. a tall rattlesnake-root growing in a drought-stricken forest, in last year's fallen tree leaves now augmented by a few of this year's crop. the plant stands chest-high. low on the stem, growing on long petioles, the broad green (yellowing) leaves have three deep lobes. higher on the stem, the leaves are lobeless. small panicles of hanging flowers grow from the axils of many of the upper leaves, and the stem terminates in a wide, loose panicle of long, pendant yellow-green flowers and buds.

Interestingly, lymph nodes (LN) from mice bearing early stage tumors were 20-25% less receptive to invasion than LN from naive mice! Chemokine signaling was not reduced, leaving the mechanism of protection an open question, as well as why the protection presumably fails at later tumor stages.
