Somewhat surprisingly, belief in this claim was highly partisan, with Republicans more likely to give credence to the idea. Scientists have not found any concrete evidence of a link between Tylenol and autism, & critics said Trump & Kennedy’s claims were based on weak & mixed evidence, at best.

The KFF poll also found 77% did hear about Trump’s claim that Tylenol use increases the risk of autism. Only 4% said this claim was “definitely true”, while 30% said it was “probably true.” ~35% said the claim was “definitely false” and another 30% said it was “probably false.”

2025 April poll: 59% trusted the CDC to some extent. Still, faith in the CDC had been waning: In 2023, 63% of people said they trusted the CDC at least somewhat. This is the lowest level of trust in the agency since the start of the covid-19 pandemic in early 2020, according to KFF.

Only 18% of the poll’s respondents expressed a “great deal” of confidence in the CDC’s vaccine information, while a further 32% said they had a “fair amount” of trust. These figures represent a sharp decline in the space of just months:
