I used to socialize, I used to draw, I used to 3D model, I used to write code and implement spritework into games.
Now I can barely drag myself out of bed. I'm exhausted and tired of being exhausted and tired.

it's like really late right now but is can Pineoil Forever actually be considered pinoslop?
pinoslop is a term often used to refer to pizza tower mods with intentionally crappy spritework, PNG's plastered all over, etc.
pineoil forever has actual spritework in it instead.

Advent NEON Demo by CryoGX
This game is really fun to score in. The combo system and the way getting speed works create a pretty satisfying game to play. My only issue is the spritework, which IMO is a mixed bag.

This actually happened in the one I'm playing right now
It's already so dark you can't see, but there's one very very dark area you need a light for

it's 1994 and I'm at the arcade and I see a new Capcom game called "Darkstalkers" so naturally being a new Capcom game I try it out but why do I keep putting quarters in just to see Jon Talbain's spritework over and over and over

its my day off so im watching Mean Girls for the first time in between bits of doing spritework, both to fill my cultural gap w it and cause im currently working on a 2000s high school teen drama game. will report back with findings

Just look at the spritework! They put so much care into capturing the characters and enemies from the PS2 game in 2D. This version’s been memory-holed by Square and it doesn’t deserve it.

Essentially a retooling of Sonic 1 & 2,
But you can play as Team Chaotix!!
While there is a TON of old-school difficulty, the game allows for character switching which eases a lot of the jank
But not all of it 😬
Also, the graphics and spritework were awesome!

For me it’s probably the Sailor Moon arcade game, maybe? Beautiful spritework, and nailed the feeling of a good beat-em-up.

I go back and play them sometimes
The sound design and spritework is extremely memorable and the game itself breaking a little when it still has THAT much to offer is part of the fun
I also love that the official art renders of the time were based on the sprites and not the other way around
