The Ford & Renault partnership reminded me of the Corcel.

Willys do Brasil was bought out by Ford, at the time they were working on an R12 based car that ended up becoming the Corcel. There was even a pickup version called the Pampa, the 3 bolt wheels reveal the French origins.

I could just buy a 4Motion Arteon because it’s a platform I’m familiar with and they cost half what they were new and it’ll probably be the last nice sedan VW will ever make.

The Arrows F1 team, founded by Jackie Oliver, Alan Rees, and others, was based in Leafield. They used Supertec (rebadged Renault/Mechachrome) engines for several seasons, with drivers like Damon Hill and Jos Verstappen.

There was genuinely an idea to make a Casablanca sequel based off Rick and Renault fighting for the free French.
Netflix, which rarely carries a single movie from before 1980, wants you to know how thrilled they are to acquire that classic piece of franchise IP, Casablanca

i've only shown glimpses of it so far but dr. dimento's "laboratory" is actually an abandoned car factory he's taken up residence in, loosely based on the (demolished) renault factory in paris

i'm sure this location rings some bells if you are at all familiar with a certain animated french TV show

According to Wikipedia, they basically built a US-based version using the same chassis as the Dauphine.

I'm guessing they had a deal with Renault to use the same molds.

In the early 1970s, the Fiat 127 and Renault 5 were appealing to millions, so the Volkswagen Polo seemed to be vitally important. In the end, however, the Audi-based hatchback sold relatively few, yet it began a fifty-year dynasty. If you’d like to see the full video, then comment ‘POLO’ below.

"Unsafe at Any Speed" was an important book (if somewhat overblown, based on subsequent testing), but he is more responsible for the last 25 years of conservative fuckery than anyone alive. (Yes, exaggerated for emphasis, the way NAder did many things himself.)

I mentioned the Renault 5. Read up on its design or the Alpine based on it. It has a steel space frame. The battery casing adds strength to the chassis. Panels are plastic. It’s lighter than many petrol or diesel cars and it’s one of the cheapest EVs. It’s safer in a crash than the ICE it replaces.

EVs are based on SUVs because it’s easy to fit batteries under a high ground clearance vehicle. Dedicated EV platforms like Renault 5 are much better.
