#Racialized
people are so not normal about visibly disabled characters, especially if they are marginalized, racialized, AND disabled.

For the people asking me what I mean by "people over institutions" and "abolish the carceral state":

The American prison industrial complex is a for profit institution built on the systematic oppression and criminalization of racialized people. It should be eliminated.

IMPORTANT:

He confronted who? The person that didn't break stride or cede physical space to him.

I can't remember it at present but there's a technical term for this specific racialized expectation.

Repeat after me: *the purpose of a system is what it does*

If you wanted a justice system whose purpose was to ensure public safety you would need to make a different system that *does that*

The current carceral system's purpose is racialized oppression. That's what it does.

also like 80% chance the "online harassment" is lots of gender marginalized or racialized people calling him out for sex pestery or racism or both
I know this is mean and reductive and petty but it pisses me off when I see somebody saying "i've received more online harassment than you can even imagine" and then it's a straight white guy. like, okay, well i doubt it lol

But what's frightening is that I was lucky. I'm white and mostly cis passing. What would have happened if I wasn't? We all know how cops respond to racialized and gnc people. What would have happened if it was Mercy instead of me? That's what I can't stop thinking about.

> also found that by a VERY large margin, the majority of victims of cop sexual violence were racialized women, children, and marginalized genders, black women vastly over-represented. another study found ~70% of victims were under 18, with an average age of 14. and neither studies even accounted >

Equating the agency of people who voted for this regime with racialized people who live in places targeted for systemic economic and social oppression because both are victims of circumstance who didn't ask to be in their situation?

I regret that I have but one block to give.

And the US has the lowest crime clearance rates and the highest wrongful conviction rates in the developed world.

The purpose of a system is what it does, and our carceral apparatus doesn't deter or punish crime. It's a for profit industry where racialized people are the product.

This is why gerrymandering and racialized voter suppression is a tool capital uses to oppress both black people AND working class white people. Keeping whites racist is helpful in the south where the economy still depends on highly exploited labor

the phrase from above is “the whiteness of disability communities” reflecting how many disability spaces are dominated by white people at the expense of racialized folks & dynamics and focus more heavily on independence & legality than interdependence, care work, anti-capitalism, & anti-imperialism.

and therefore better funding, than schools with a majority of racialized students. That, in turn, fueled white flight to the suburbs ostensibly because of the better schools, and creating a self-reinforcing cycle of school segregation. So, in 1968, a group of Black and Latino parents in Texas,

What we're seeing from this regime, essentially, is a rearticulation of the American Dream that has always operated at the expense of racialized groups in stolen bodies, land, & labor. An expansion of the boundaries of Occupied Territory within which only the occupiers can be permitted to thrive.

bingo!! see also: racialization and anti-blackness. black and brown parents are outranked by white men, violating the property line of a racialized parent is permissible for a white man to do etc

Here's a thread from a while back illustrating a dynamic that historian Jefferson Cowie has called "racialized anti-statism." The anti-statist feelings are very real...but the "principles" they rest upon are illiberal in that they are not universally applied to all. bsky.app/profile/seth...
As almost every self-described American "conservative" watches on blithely as Musk's DOGE team Hoovers up tons of private data about every US citizen with which they will do God knows what, a flashback to this "conservative" pamphlet from 1963 is instructive. Conservatives hate big brother, right?

This is why I crash out about “cultural competency”

Here’s why .

Article was about Johnny Cash .

And it’s a prime non racialized example of why context matters and moderation that rewrites culture along power lines misss a critical facets

1776 was when the white man was like nice democracy you got there. Be a shame if someone... plagiarized it to disguise a racialized oligarchy.

I’m unless it does something for the racialized it’s just kind of cheap sensationalism

As someone who has to type out the words thousands of times a year, I prefer “cannabis” because it saves me exactly one (1) keystroke each time, but: both are okay! The idea that “marijuana” was how the drug first got racialized is silly!
November 14, 2025 at 7:20 PM
before they called it marijuana, people called it hashish or Indian Hemp or other racialized terms. I don’t think “Indian hemp” is a great move, but call it any other thing, who care

This isn't remotely true. You've constructed a bizarre narrative to obscure the fact that bullying mostly targets poor kids racialized kids, neurodivergent kids, and kids who fail to meet/reject gender expectations. Bullying is reactionary and regressive.
