I am unable to respond to this, only quote tweet, but this is what Canada has been doing. The federal government has been giving infrastructure money to municipalities on condition of local zoning reform.

Calgary has been considering repealing its zoning reform and the feds have paused their money!

Hey. Hi. Hello.

This is a trip I've been wanting to record for awhile, but it always felt a little quiet.

So, in the latest HFX By Bike, I made the long trip from Bayers Lake to Bike and Bean Cafe at Peak Fall Colours as a birthday bonus episode.

Good illustration of the casualness that many bring to traffic discussions. Rarely do they interact with the fundamental problem of geography: cars need a lot of space.

“The vacated homes were substantially cheaper than the new units and spanned diverse locations and housing types.”

When people move into new housing developments, they free up space in older housing. This is good for housing affordability and availability.
Interesting new working paper that studies chains of movers after the construction of a new apartment building in Honolulu.

Paper finds that the project resulted in the opening up other, lower cost, housing on the island, benefiting the housing market overall.

Ottawa must communicate the scale of the changes we’re about to see and the time it will take to get them right. So far, it hasn't.

Bike lanes are 1.5m wide, minimum width for a bus lane is ~3.3m.

2x1.5 = 3, 3m < 3.3m
