33 / The Kuomintang, which now only exists in Taiwan, started as a China-wide party including a socialist wing. The USSR-aligned socialists were told to work within this structure, but were attacked and purged in the later 1920s and their Shanghai working class supporters were massacred.

Após a rendição japonesa em 1945, o conflito entre PCCh e Kuomintang recomeçou. Em 1948, Mao comandou uma ofensiva geral que derrotou definitivamente as tropas de Chiang Kai-Shek, encerrando a Guerra Civil e estabelecendo o domínio revolucionário sobre a China continental.

Ce sont des partis fantoches qui servent de justificatif à un Front populaire créé en 1949 pour éviter (pour la photo) de faire du PCC le parti unique. Le plus gros de ces mouvements est le Comité révolutionnaire du Kuomintang qui est une ancienne faction de gauche du KMT.

Mao saw the value of working with the Kuomintang to fight the Japanese in World War II as that was the bigger threat.
