I like looking out for the political component in #cDrama PPL - LOTS of Huawei and Xiaomi gear these days, and there was one whole #cDrama a few years back whose raison d'être was basically "China makes the best drones in the world" 😊

Sadly, though for #KDrama companies, the fact that I keep a large jar constantly at least half full of Kopiko shows that PPL has zero effect on my purchasing habits

Academically, I know that the entertainment business is about business first, entertainment 59th, but emotionally when it comes to Drama watching I'm reminded of Emo Phillips "ecumenical prayer"

I'm hoping that f Lin Yi Chen and Ko Chia Yen, don't abandon acting altogether. Ko Chia Yen was FL in #ImMarriedBut, my top #twDrama for this year (and #SomeDayOrOneDay which I only watched last year) and Lin Yi Chen was co-lead in the outstanding #ImperfectUs I'll miss them if they go

And I think it's VERY interesting, and surprisingly little remarked om, that the PRC has gone the other way, with a very significant loosening of the restrictions on foreign content. Eccept those that literally walk over a Chinese flag, I guess. 🙄😆

Thanks for these insider insights. They help me understand why a couple of Taiwanese actors I really like are transitioning to other fields, one to screenwriting and production, the other to being an author first.

I'm into the last hour of a nine hour night shift, so it's most likely I simply defaulted to "Netflix". I have to keep checking justwatch.com to find our what's available, where and on what streamer, and I'm too tired for that at the moment🤦‍♂️

In my top 10 2025 releases, Tangerines is Nr 1, but I do think that's because of when I watched it, around the 2nd anniversary of my Dad's death. Watched when not pre-primed, I'd probably have reacted less enthusiastically. It's also the only #kDrama in my top 10 so far

Yes, I ran out of characters to get the relationship right. I'm into episode 5 now and still suffering from cognitive dissonance every time Li Xian's character smiles - not a helluva lot of that from his character in #WillLoveInSpring 😊
