There are scurrilous rumours on the Interweb Tubes that on vanishingly rare occasions there have been quark-width differences of opinion between James and I on matters #cDrama So I repost in rebuttal 😍
I know it may not seem like it, but I hate having to contradict people
But as someone who has watched plenty of cdramas & kdramas over the last few years, I absolutely do *not* recognise this description of cdramas having “clunky, cardboard acting” & “not deft in plotting stories/showing nuance”

"You can binge these 8 great classic K Dramas in one day" - they meant each, it turned out. BUT the last of the 8 was #kDrama WLGYT!
At a total runtime around 17 hours it is technically POSSIBLE to watch in one day, but that's hardcore pro-level bingeing for sure

And that's a drop for #kDrama #LawAndTheCity - turns out that five 75-minute episodes of Lee Jong Seok playing Lee Jong Seok (as in every lead role of his I've seen except IHYV) was my limit. Not an awful show, but not gripping enough to overcome the crippling handicap of its ML. Tschüss!

One thing pretty much constant in almost any #kDrama that features is it is French so bad it could trigger diplomatic incidents or declarations of war. Which is why whenever I watch a Mun Ka Young #KDrama I keep hoping to hear her speaking the language she grew up with. Sprechen Sie Deutsch, bitte!

Back when my bias was a ballerina, I was always annoyed #kDrama cast a non-dancer as a ballet dancer. Now that she's returned to ballet as a teacher, it's the turn of #cDrama -many good actors who are trained dancers, why not cast one them as the ballerina lead in #SecondChanceRomance ? #WanPeng

Finally finished the interminably tedious and dull Ten Teacups. Merivale as unreadable as Fell, the best part of the book BY FAR was the intro by @martinedwardsbooks.bsky.social so many reviews talked about the macabre atmospherics, all I felt was bored. Gimme @tommeadauthor.bsky.social anyday
