oh, while I'm listing 'mainline' games since XY, obviously Diamond and Pearl remake"s" are very lacking. I got it and enjoyed it because I felt like replaying Gen 4. So that's one where I'm for once not claiming it's a success of a game, but I still managed a thorough satisfactory experience with it

And, again, the framing during the time of Arceus was this was so so so far back that only historians would have a shred of knowledge about this place. This is the in-universe explanation as to why characters in Gen 4 weren't bringing up alpha Pokemon or the Diamond/Pearl clans.

Maybe you need XY nostalgia to really appreciate it. I have only played X and Y once each, ever. They're weaker entries compared to BW/BW2 or even Diamond and Pearl, in my humble opinion.

Ah, I guess. I haven't played a mainline Pokemon game since the original Diamond and Pearl so I'm way out of the loop on all the random nonsense they're making people pay for I just know what my wife goes on about sometimes.
But yeah, gotta be competitive to get them is...so bad.

I took a long break after diamond and pearl originally came out. Ended up buying both sword and arceus but didnt play them once for a couple years until violet, and then i went back and finished sword. But i havent played anything that came out in between

Yea but, why remake platinum for one game to sell when they can do diamond AND pearl and sell TWO games, both of which are required to complete the pokedex??

I have never related to/agreed with anything more. I was a wreck. I really like Perrin, but that is NOT Irida’s descendant imo. I think that was especially clear after the dlc came out and there was 0 references to Irida/the Pearl Clan, but a ton of nods to Adaman/the Diamond Clan

I recognize that Platinum was good, but Diamond and Pearl were so mediocre that it permanently stained Gen IV to me.

I honestly think its a good game. its got some design weaknesses and its not perfect but its still way better than the worst pokemon game ever.

Also pokemon whose evolution level is clearly due to where you got it in the first game it was from
Ponyta evolving at 40 is fine when you get it at level 28-34 in red and blue, maybe a bit late though when you can get it at level 14 in diamond and pearl

I have been playing #Pokemon since the Diamond/Pearl era. I have seen so many friends that have gotten a lot of shinies since ZA came out and I was trying to find one. I about cried and it was right when it was going to daytime

Remekes of Pearl and Diamond would be better. Because it is more of a finished game. And you aren't stuck in a haft rendered city, with nothing to do. Hell would even recommend playing old nds games. Because modern games don't show Pokémon at its best.
