my community has been fighting against two new ai-data centers, bought and paid for by the same company that made the fucking atomic bomb. beyond generative ai, its expressed purpose is to help train ai models used in warfare. I don't think people understand how perilous these centers are.
the more you learn about ai and the business behind it and truly how horribly ai mega datacenters are for the environment and are destroying the communities they’re in it makes you want to return to living in a cave

"Democratize Storytelling" is the most absolute bullshit thing about this AI Comics news. I see this phrase a lot lately and it's infuriating. Storytelling is already democratized! Making comics isn't gatekept! YOU CAN JUST MAKE A FUCKING COMIC, IT'S OKAY IF IT LOOKS LIKE TRASH FOR A WHILE.

be less afraid to create clumsy comics. awkward tangents. amateur lettering. weird sequentials and pacing. You Can Just Make it. you dont need to be trapped in a cycle of perfectionism and imposter syndrome when you could have a finished work instead. print that thing out and staple it!!!

It's because we all have day jobs, advances are pennies, publishers don't market, one underperforming book tanks your career, and we're expected to be well-tuned brand machines on social media websites designed to suck our souls dry.
